Attempted NCLEX-RN for the 3rd Time (June 3)

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

jester.GIF Hi All,

Well, I took the NCLEX-RN once again, hoping that the 3rd time is the charm. I'm not sure which question number the computer shut off on, but it was around 180+. I'm trying to remain calm, as I know that what happens from here is in God's hands now, but I can't help but feel anxious regarding the results of my exam. It's funny how the anxiety never gets old, no matter how many times you take the exam. The first 5 questions of the exam were rather easy, but after question 5, the questions became more challenging. I took my time with each question since the beginning, not worried about running out of time - even though at the rate I was reading each question and answer choices carefully, I surely would have. The types of questions I got were infection control, prioritization, which client would the nurse see first, a dozen or so medication questions (most of which I never heard of), three or four medication dosage calculation questions, one ECG rhythm strip question, three drag and drop (rank in order) questions, at least six SATA (select all that apply) questions (at one point I received two SATAs back-to-back), and the rest were typical med-surg, pediatrics, some neuro and one or two maternity questions. My last question was regarding knowledge of furosemide (Lasix) - a question I believe I answered correctly. I truly felt like I received the full range of questions, and definitely was challenged during this attempt... but I feel like I failed because my last question (in my opinion) seemed too easy. Based on what others have posted about ending their tests with higher-level questions (and passing the NCLEX), I can't help but feel like I finished below the line of passing... sniff.gif

I really had a hard time reading your thread. It had alot of symbols mixed in. But most people say that if you get SATA than you good cause they are considered harder questions. Be calm and I know it's hard to cause your so anxious to know. Just know you always can retest and I don't mean to say that in a mean way. I failed boards 3x and when my friend said that to me about retesting I din't wanna hear that at the time but it's the truth. You get back up again. God bless.

Don't worry, I hope you passed. It's not an easy test whatsoever and I admire people that pass on the first try. I've taken it 3 times already, my 4th try will be in July, I just hope 4th time's a charm. I got the max number of questions and failed last time, very frustrating. But if you didn't pass, don't give up. Believe it or not, the hard part IS over (school). You can do it, don't give up on yourself!!! Good luck!

Edit: Sorry about the original post being so hard to read... I have no idea why it posted like that.

Thank you for all your support!

Wishing you good luck.

Much thanks caliotter3! I have a good feeling I passed. I was reading about the Pearsonvue "Trick" and when I tried to register for another test, I got the message "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I'm going to continue to pray for some good news.
