I graduated May 19 from UAMS. Just wondering how many others are still waiting for their temporary license or ATT?
I already have my LPN license and it's :angryfire having to work for that pay when I have the education for a raise.

I graduated May 19th from UALR. I still do not have my ATT and I contacted the state board. They are waiting on my FBI background check. However, I heard from a classmate of mine and she has already taken her NCLEX and passed. She knows of another person too who has already taken theirs. Another classmate of mine who is in the same boat said he contacted the FBI and they advised the background checks were sent to the state board a long time ago. I am not sure what is going on. I have a set start date for a new job in a few weeks. I would really like to take my NCLEX before I start my new job if possible. Right now, I am wondering if I will have my temporary license in time.

I graduated RN school in May and I too am still waiting for my temp license and ATT, I have called the BON and was told that since I have an arrest on my record my paperwork was in a huge pile on a desk where they have one person approving our requests, the funny thing is, I am already an LPN and they already approved my licensure in 2005 when I finished LPN school, I mean if you have an active license and the "criminal history" (my ex had me arrested for violation of a protective order that never existed back in 2002 and it was dismissed) has already been "approved" and there is nothing new showing on my FBI background check, why does it have to be put thru the same long arduous process again? Why is there only one person who can do that anyway and why does it take so freaking long? I mean it is costing me money for one thing, like my $5/hr raise in pay I will get with my temp, I am embarassed because most of my classmates have taken their boards already, and I am afraid I am getting the raw end of the deal because its going to take me forever to test!! Anyway, glad to get that off my chest. This whole thing is like double jeopardy, I am so tired of my past experience destroying my future!!!
i'm just waiting for my lazy school to fax my records to the BON... i graduated in may and haven't gotten my att ... yet... i am calling the dean tommrow if my records are not faxed to the BON ... most of the people in my class have taken boards allready .. and here i am hanging around.... the bON told me the school is holding them up.... i am so mad.... grrrrr....
Why are your records still at the school and your classmates have already tested? That doesn't make any sense? I would be calling the school today if I were you. My school sent our stuff in and it was all received on the 4th of June but mine is still in a stack on someone's desk at the BON, did you have anything show up on your background check or did you answer yes on any qualifiers? that is my hold up.
i called the school today and they said X hasn't finished our whole class ..we had over 100 people graduate and they are still working on it.. i have a friend that took her boards today and 2 friends that are waiting.. the school is slow and unorganized and i am just mad.. i just got a email form the bON and told me i can test a soon as it hey get my records.. they were very kind and told me to hang in there a few more days.. and i will get my att.. oh i just got a email from the board,,, they are so nice... they said hang in there i will test soon.. so i will call the school tommrow.... i appreciate all your support and kind words, we'll get through this..
I e-mailed the nursing board last night and received a phone call today. They left a message on my voice mail saying the same thing they said last week. They are waiting on my FBI check. I have absolutely no idea why there would be a hold up on this. I made a point to get everything in to BON right away after I graduated. I don't have any arrests on my record. I can't imagine why there would be a delay.
i know how frustrated you are... my hold up is my school.. it will all work out in the end... my prayers are with you... hang in there.... how long ago did you send in your prints to the FBI ? i hear it can take up to 6 mos...
I cannot remember the exact date. The entire classes was sent at the same time and I believe it was the end of March or beginning of April. I just thought maybe because I used to be married and had a different last name at one time would be holding it up. I don't really see why. If you pull my social up I am sure it has both names. I am sure the FBI can see marriage and divorce records pretty easy. GEEEZZZZ!!! If it takes 6 months then I can kiss this job I landed good by. There is no way they will hold it that long. Not to mention I need the money. One of my classmates told me she had her ATT within 8 days of turning her application in to BON!!
The FBI background check can take a while, our school had us turn ours in by March, everybody in my class has now received their temp or ATT but me. I am so frustrated.
I got my temp RN today! Finally! My paperwork was turned in on June 4th, I am still waiting on my ATT but so far so good! Good luck to you guys hope you get yours soon!
