Hello All!
Has anyone else who graduates in May 2023 started applying to Summer new grad residencies in ATL?
So far I’ve seen Piedmont, Children’s, and Emory apps being open. Still waiting on Grady, Northside, and Wellstar.
There are also quite a few open houses that may be helpful to attend. Especially if they will be hiring on the spot.
Hey Everyone,
I will be graduating with my ADN this May. Has anyone received an offer for any Piedmont, Emory, Grady, or CHOA locations? If so what location/specialty, and what was the rate they offered? Currently have a couple of offers in critical care and want to decide which one to take.
Thanks
Updates-I have pretty much struck out in ATL as far as my desired NICU specialty goes and only gotten through to recruiters/screenings basically telling me why it won't happen but offering things I don't want:
1. Piedmont Atlanta-NICU manager wants preceptorship students in NICU (I don't have that) so I was offered L&D or Mother baby in Atlanta. And I was offered NICU in Rockdale and some other faraway places. I withdrew my application.
2. CHOA- NICU wants BSN (I have ADN). I was offered ED or Oncology (ADN is good enough for those I guess). I withdrew my application.
3. Wellstar- Event is tomorrow. However, they made it seem like NICU would be slim to none with availability. I would be traveling out of state so decided it wasn't worth the trip. I withdrew my application.
4. Northside- They decided they didn't have enough room/time to interview out of state applicants. Im fairly pissed about this because I have flight benefits and would have had no problem taking a trip to Atlanta to interview. But they assumed I couldn't make it and didn't bother to ask if I could travel LOL. So I withdrew my application.
5. Emory- I was on as SOON as they opened and the NICU was no longer available. Maybe something will open up but I won't hold my breath.
I guess this is a sign I'm not supposed to move to the ATL. Oddly enough, I have interviews at all 3 level 4 NICUs here where I live now beginning in March. Maybe I'm just supposed to stay here.
How about anyone else?

I had the same experience with Northside and Piedmont. The Piedmont recruiter was not the friendliest either. I started out wanting NICU but decided to kind of expand with how difficult NICU is to get into. Hoping for the best with my CHOA interview I have in a different department! Wishing you the very best of luck, if it's meant to be it'll be! Not denied maybe just a bit delayed!

Did CHOA offer you an ICU position?
