ATI is a total rip-off

here's an online chat i had with an ati rep just a few minutes ago.

nancy: hello, how may i assist you?

robert: yes!

robert: i just ordered a teas transcript

robert: and i sent it to the wrong place

robert: can you switch the recipient?

nancy: one moment

robert: ok

nancy: i am sorry. you are going to have to go thru the steps again and pay. once the credit card has been entered and approved the scores are sent electronically to the schools.

robert: i can't cancel it???

nancy: no, we have a no refund policy

robert: i don't care if you don't refund, i don't want the transcript sent

nancy: i am sorry it is automated. we cannot stop it

robert: so you charge $20 for nothing?

robert: an automated email... you're charging $20 for?

robert: that is such thievery

nancy: i am sorry you feel that way, but that is how are system works

i concluded with "thanks for nothing."

her final comment? "have a nice day."

She's right! They have no return policy, you might as well check there policy for confirmation.

I'm sorry you're having issues with them sending your transcripts to the wrong place, and I'm not trying to be rude when I say this but you really should read the fine print and know a company's refund/return policy before you pay for ANYTHING online. Just my two cents.

That is exactly why when I originally took their practice test, I didn't list a school as a place to have them sent.

Eh, I agree with everyone else in saying that you should really have read the return policy. However, I do overall agree that ATI is a "rip-off" as charging $20 per official ATI score transcript is ROBBERY.

Hey guys, the point I was trying to make (poorly) is that they charge $20 to send an email! Don't you think that's ridiculous????????? They are totally taking advantage of the students. The company must be making exorbitant amounts of money by charging for a "service" that costs them NOTHING!

I do agree with you it is ridiculous to charge that much. Could you call the school you sent it to? Maybe they can do something? That really stinks.

I don't care about my report. They are ripping off THOUSANDS of students every year!

That really sucks. Just one more example of how companies try to take advantage of students.
