ATI Study Materials?

We had to use them at my school - took ATI tests for many subjects and had to take a comprehensive one to graduate. It's supposed to be predictive and I hope it is - since they gave me a 98% chance of passing. I'll find our in a few weeks!

Are there any particular subjects you are looking for? PM me if you want.

Also, do you learn well online? I am doing an online review offered by NCSBN and the price is very reasonable. You can enroll in 2-15 weeks and the most expensive is about $160! I don't have much input from others, but I like it so far. http://www.learningext.com/products/rnreview/review.asp

Thanks for the info. Do you think learning extension is more beneficial than a pile of ATI books????? I have a hard time staying focused so I am thinking that maybe the online learning extension would be better for me. I'm not sure!!!!!

I like the LearningExt so far. I did a 150 ques pretest and then it has lessons for everything - with questions after. Then it has a bunch of post tests for different topics and random. I like it. It has rationales and most of the tests give you rationales right away. So the ATI books have info, but won't give you the testing material. If you think you can stay focused online, I'd reccomend it. Things is - you can pay for the 3 weeks and if you like it and have more to do, you can extend by paying again. And it's just not that much money. I picked 5 weeks and should be through all I want by then. I am picking and choosing the review material based on how my tests are going. I also feel good about doing a review offered by the people who make NCLEX.

ATI, was no help to me at all.. i failed the first time taking this wonderful exam...i also took the ATI exit exam to graduate and i got into the 90 percentile. we needed at least a 70 to graduate...

I would definitely go with learning ext. over ATI books. We also used them with our school and I've never picked them up. I watched a few of the videos.. but even those are dry and hard to actually watch. I used learning ext. when I was preparing for the nclex the second time around. I think it's pretty good.. and I do like the fact that it gives you the rational right after you answer each question. Also, these questions are broken up into 20-40 questions/section. So for me it was good because I'd do one test.. take a break and then start another. And then I wouldn't have to go back and read rationals to questions I had forgotten about already...

I used ATI virtual after I graduated. Plus we had to do the ATI exit exam in school as well as learning ext. ATI was helpful to me, only because I learn better by listening and by doing. Mostly I did practice questions so many practice questions that I thought my head would spin. We also had to do a another test in school by Arnett and that was supposed to see if you were ready to take the nclex and at the time I bombed that sucker big time. so something above helped me pass the test.

I passed NCLEX on first try, but I really attribute it to the sheer number of practice questions that I did (about 3000) PLUS perhaps a good amount of plain old luck & of course, the grace of God ! - but definitely NOT due to ATI. Our school had ATI but I was not impressed. The books are very good for content, but the ATI questions on their exams, in my opinion, did not seem like NCLEX (they weren't hard enough on ATI and lots of us always seemed to do really well on the ATI tests without studying). However, when I looked over Saunders (Comprehensive NCLEX review) I was SO impressed (book & CD can be bought as a set from Saunders) so that's what I now recommend.

wow im surprised that most of you guys did well on those ATI tests. when we used to do those practice questions in school people had LOTS of trouble with it. also it WAS no where near nclex style questions. some found it much harder than nclex, some found it easier. but i have to admit the set of books were alot of help getting through school, coz it was detailed to the bone. well as you can see ATI did not help me pass nclex the first time around..using saunders now and suzzane4's study plan
