Does anyone else have to take an ATI test at the end of each semester? I am about to have to take my first one tomorrow. It is supposed to test how well we have learned the info so far. I am not sure how well I will do on it since there are sections in the study guide that we have yet to go over in class such as IV rates etc. We were told we woud learn more about IVs, endotracheal feedings, ostomies and suctioning in third semster. Now we are being tested on them?! Is anyone else taking an ATI at the end of each semester and if so, how well are you and your classmates doing? We had some practice tests to take and I didn't do as well as I had anticipated. Thing is neither have my classmates.
Ahhhh...Ok Cool! Thanks. They will take the % we make on the ATI and use it as our final grade if we want them to and we can bypass the final. Problem is I need a 92 to end up with an A. I have done awesome on the tests, but did not so hot on the ATI. I am not sure how I can do so well on tests and then do bad on the ATI. I scored higher on the NCLEX 3500 prectice. UGH! I am worried. :icon_roll
I took the test. I saw the levels you guys were talking about! LOL! I scored a level 3!!!! I also now have an A in Fundamentals and don't have to take the final! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
congrats on a job well done!
and yeah, I misspoke earlier. I'm taking a bunch of practice exams now in prep for my OB ATI on Weds and Peds ATI on Fri..and there is no level on there, just your %
but now since you scored, you will have a ballpark figure to base future practice exams on!
Good luck on your Peds and OB!!! Yeah, it is nice to know how they are scored. I knew to look for the level at the end of the test bc of your posts, which I would not have known to look for. We had to score at least an 80 to be exempt from the exam. Not very many in our class have scored 80 or higher. They seemed like weird questions to me...Thanks for your help!
Thank Goodness!! so far I have passed all my ATI's with level 2 and up...
whoever say that those are easy then... KUDOS to you, i think they are quite challenging!
I am though, stuck on mental health ATI, i need a 70 for a level 2 and i got a 68.8 on my test so i have another chance..
On my school you must have level 2 on all your ATI in order to pass the class and the ATI tests are like... 20-25% of our total grade!!!
I got to pass this guys... (my only excuse for not passing this on the first try is that i focused my time on my last advanced med surge test, plus proctored ATI, also pediatrics last test and proctored ATI, in which I scored great on all the above)
so... i should study my hiney off tomorrow, wednesday and thursday on the AM, also planing on watching the ATI review DVD, so i can get a level 3 on this crap!!!
I so dislike mental health with a passion!
Good luck helpingothersinlife!!! I will be thinking about you. You can do it!! I agree these ATI tests are VERY challenging. They are so strange. The questions are just weird!!! I mean I had no idea how I did when I pressed that button looking for my results. It was nerve wrecking. UGH! I can not even imagine all the stress involved with being expected to pass one of those each and every semester. I would explode from the stress. I slept last night like a baby since I did not have class or anything to study. I am sure it will be great for a couple days and then I will feel lost. Guess I could look at Pharm...Good luck to you!

now think.... if it is stressing taking a proctor per semester, imagine taking PEDS, MEDSURGE, and MENTAL HEALTH on the same semester!!!
i am at school now, even though its my day off of class!!! so i can prepare and blow that test out of the water thursday!
I just took my maternity ATI today....scored in the 99th percentile (level 3)!!
In my program, we have to pass with at least the 50th percentile to pass the course, no matter what your grade is. And ATI counts for nothing toward your grade in the class, no matter how good or bad you do.
Mental health ATI is Thursday, hoping I can do well on that one too!
Good luck everyone with end of semester stuff!

the practice test should have at the end computed % score into its level score...its at the end of every assessment, practice and proctored.
