Athabasca Post LPN to RN - How long did it take you?

Updated:   Published

Hello, I have just enrolled in the Post LPN to RN degree at AU. I am in the process of having my prior post-secondary credits transferred. Yay!

This goes out to anyone who has taken the program, known someone who has taken the program or currently enrolled:

How long from start of Cluster A to graduation did it take to complete?

thanks!

Hi everyone. Just wondering how everyone is doing with the courses, how you are managing with life around it, work, kids, etc and does anyone have more infor about the clinicals.

thanks

I also just enrolled! How was your first year!?

Specializes in Operating Room.

I'm looking into this route as well! I'm an RPN from Ontario, does anyone have any feedback as to how the course is going so far?

I started the program in September 2012 and yesterday was my last day of the program. I took a full time load 80% of the time and worked part time, I don't have children. After several melt downs and maed out credit cards... I finally made it :)

Just curious if you did end up starting the program? I'm currently taking my first 2 courses of cluster A and would love to find someone to chat with who is in the same boat.

Hello!

Just curious if anyone here is still in the progress of doing the program at athabasca? I am in the middle of cluster B and would love to chat with someone who is in a similar spot!

HI everyone,

I am a Permanent resident and I live in New Brunswick. I am a registered Nurse from the country where I from. I have my nursing assessed twice by WES and NNAS , it is very frustrating here in NB because LPN bridging program is only for LPN that graduated here.

I am looking at all my options and I would like to go to Athabasca program , if someone here is willing to share their experience I will highly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Hi there,

I'm from Ontario and interested in doing the LPN to RN.. any suggestions or tips about living arrangements while in Alberta?

Thank you,

Jaymie :)

LPN Graduation is in site. Post grad I am planning on 9 months off before registering for my first cluster A course. Hoping to make connections to others on this route to an RN.

Hi, I am from Ontario too and I just graduated with my RPN diploma, I am currently thinking about the bridging program at AU how is the program? Is it hard? Were any of you able to get high marks because I just realized they changed the GPA average to get into the Cluster B courses.
