At a loss, please help

Published

I'm 6 months pregnant and bought nothing for the baby yet. Hubby goes to school and works part time. Just found out I lost my job along with every other nurse on my shift for failure to perform duties as expected

Deal is I've been a hard worker my whole life. No one can fault me on that. I've worked as an RN for just close to 8 months and this happens when I least expect it. I do not want to rely on the welfare system anymore if I really don't have to. So if anyone knows of any place in the DFW area that will be willing to hire a hard-working 6 month pregnant nurse, please let me know. I've been to so many places already in the past few days since I found out I'd been fired and been told they're not hiring. It's very discouraging and frustrating.:crying2: Please, help with any INFO on JOB OPENINGS.

God bless you.

Wow, they let an entire unit go? Sorry that this happened to you. What kind of nursing do you have experience in?

I have worked LTC first as an aide for 3 years and now as an RN. I have no hospital experience right now but a whole lot of SNF/LTC experience, including hands-on, supervision and admissions.

I've never worked outside the hospital, so I don't have any knowledge of LTC or rehab-type places. Have you looked on indeed.com? Or are there agencies for LTC? I hope you can find something.

Thanks Sanuk. Yes, I've looked on indeed, simplyhired and all such places. It's pretty hard though when you go in for an interview and they see you're pregnant. They may not hire me for that but they come up with some other flimsy excuse. Anyways, I'm still trying. not giving up yet.

Can you find an agency/per diem/prn job until after you deliver?

Can you find an agency/per diem/prn job until after you deliver?

Been looking and applying. Hopefully can find something till I deliver. Trying local flu shot agencies too. Hopefully, they'll give me a shot. Thanks

So they fired a whole staff at once? Who is taking care of the patients then? That's crazy!

Good luck!
