I took my NCLEX last November, passed, got my license... and then found out how hard it was for a new grad to get a job. I was literally driving all over the Los Angeles area filling out applications at any hospital, SNF and home health agency I could find! In April I gave up and found a regular clerical job, which I was very greatful for. But it wasn't nursing...
By a stroke of luck I saw an opening for a rep for a home health agency. I applied, got an interview, and the first thing the interviewer says... why didn't you apply for our LVN position? Well, I didn't know you had one available! Fast-forward a couple more interviews and here I am, ready to start... in seven hours!
I just checked my profile here on this site and my very first post, two months after I started LVN school, was in July 2008. I'm extremely excited but also extremely nervous because I feel like it's been forever since I've been in clinicals. Well, this is what I've been preparing for. All I can say is... AT LAST!
P.S. I think I'm gonna start giggling the first time I sign my name with my credentials "LVN"!!!
