ASU Summer of 2011 applicants!

U.S.A. Arizona

hello all you asu nursing hopefuls,

well, i decided to start this thread to get all of the arizona state bsn majors that are applying for the 16-month summer program starting in may of 2011 together. i went to the advancement workshop on 11/12/2010 and saw so many people there. i can't even imagine how many people will be applying. with only 100 seats open, it's going to be tough, although that's probably an understatement. the advancement scores for summer cycles have been lower than the traditional 24-month program in the past, but with all the changes that asu decided to make :uhoh3:, i think things will be different this time around. i don't think my chances are very good compared to other applicants. i have a 3.81 gpa... realistically, i'll probably have to get like a 92% on the teas to be competitive against students that have a 4.0, which seems like most do. i don't think that's possible...but i gotta stay optimistic. with replacement course for sciences being virtually impossible to take (seeing how you need so many pre-reqs for them which the nursing program doesn't require), i'm starting to worry:crying2: .however, all i can do is study my butt of for the teas and see what happens.

anyhoo..... feel free to share comments and stories, ask questions, and connect with other students that are applying for the summer 2011 program. this is just a way for us to get through the long wait until april arrives and to provide encouragement for each other. :heartbeat

I want to give e-hugs to you both! :heartbeat Hahaha! I know I should probably relax and not worry about the material I am about to cover, but it is so hard for me to think about anything non-nursing related! I am going to regret it in a few months, I am sure.

Anyways, this wait is killing me...

So the letters may go out today, right? I really hope they do. I called the advising office last Thursday and today and all they will tell me is that the letters should go out this week. They won't give me a day. Does anyone have any more information than that?

I hope you are right. I remember someone posting that they should go out today. I assume this means they are mailed today and if you live locally they would be received tomorrow or the next day. Does anyone know for sure, hard to say I know.

On some of the older posts I've read that once the letters go out SS will tell you what the cut-off score was :)

I called today and emailed my advisor and no one will give me a definite answer. :\

I heard that too, but one of the people I talked to said that the cutoff score won't be released until 4 days after the letters have been sent out. Maybe they changed their policy?

Oh boy, hopefully they do go out today because I've been counting on it since like last week! At this point, I'm just going to student services and tell them to hold my letter, I'll come pick it up hehe...it's faster that way!!!! :) J/K I wish they would just release the cutoff scores on the same, or even next day that the letters go out... because that would save worry and time for a lot of us.

Ok, I just called and they told me they will be going out later this week and NOT today- humph!

Ugh! I was hoping they'd send them out today. This is driving me crazy! What is taking so long?!?

Seriousssly. Why can't they embrace the technology of today and just email us our letters?! lol

I have been holding off signing a lease for an apt because I don't know if my score was good enough for mayo. :crying2:

I am going to be scrambling to find one available!

Later this week? Wow they weren't kidding when they said that they would be going out at the "end of March". When I went to the advancement workshop for Fall 2011 (had to be prepared lol), they said that starting with the fall they would probably email the letters instead..... so why not just start now! Obviously, they already know who got in and who didn't! Frustrating!

Get me back on track if I am misunderstanding. So they mail out letters saying if you got in or not. Then 4 days later they send out the cut off score. Does it matter what the cut off score is if you got in or didn't get in for that matter? Seems like it wouldn't matter because your fate has already been decided :).
