ASU Post-Baccalaureate BSN 2017 - Welcome

Hey everyone,

I am a current post-bacc student at ASU. I wanted to start a thread for all of you who are applying for the 2017 class. Last year we had amazing support from the 2015 class, so we wanted to carry on that tradition and provide you all with the same support system. Feel free to use this thread to ask questions and seek advice. Many of my classmates will be on here answering your questions as well!

Good luck to you all!

I do not understand why they wont confirm 40 or 48 spots. When every year in the past they have already confirmed the number of spots.

It might be to keep up their competitive reputation? I don't understand it either.

I just email my advisor. She told me that they have received 134 applications for traditional and 48 applications for post-bac. we will receive the advacement result on late oct or early nov. she did not tell me how many spot they will accept for the post- bac so i think they still think abt it. I hope all 48 applications will get in:)

Does it count that my advisor said "we are anticipating 48 spots for the post bacc program"? It wasn't a direct answer but still...

Got an email today with a confirmation form I have to fill out. I assume everyone else did as well? Has anyone filled it out yet? Is it long?

Just confirmed my application. Name, ASU #, and a check box that all info is correct. Easy peasy. Still....so darn nervous! Sooooon!

Hey guys I'm curious if anyone currently in the program or starting the program likely spring 2017 has daycare age children? Does anyone know of any good daycares near campus( downtown Phoenix) or Glendale area?

Thanks

I found this link

On Campus Child Care Programs | Educational Outreach and Student Services

I'm not sure about pricing but it's for 3-5 year olds and is typical school hours but it's worth a shot to ask. My son will be 4 in December and I'm also trying to find a program that'll be reliable for the duration of this program. I live out in surprise and I've been struggling trying to find affordable quality childcare. The only thing I've tried was Sunrise preschool and my experience was not good...

Yeah I live in way out Glendale and was looking for something. I saw the Sunrise preschool and was considering it until I saw some bad reviews? You had a poor experience with them? My daughter is two she doesn't turn 3 until July ? I wonder if they would make an exception and allow her in that.

My experience with Sunrise is that they have nothing but young girls working there that aren't mature enough to really help children learn right from wrong. We had a bad experience and now I'm weary of every daycare I see. The only thing I was reading about the daycare on campus is that they might be open for fewer hours than we are in class.

Hey everyone I seem to remember awhile back in the post people mentioning something about them making changes to the program. Have any of you guys heard anything more about this and what those changes may be? Are the lectures usually made available online and is attendance required for most of the lectures? About how many hours a week are you in lecture and clinicals? Is it still normally 5 days a week or do we often have days during the week off?
