Hello everyone!
My name is Alex, and I am nearing completion of the 2014 Post-Bacc BSN program at Arizona State University (ASU). I had created a thread last year regarding the application and admissions process, and classmates from the 2013 rotation were very receptive and helpful for us - so I wanted to return the favor to the incoming class!
If you all have any questions regarding any part of the process or curriculum, let me know! I'll also notify the classmates for their input.
Hello, everyone! I have also recently applied to the PBCNP. My score is just above last year's average, but I am still very anxious about whether I will be accepted or not. I am hoping everything goes smoothly :) I got my confirmation e-mail and today I received the e-mail for Information and Coursework Review... which means we are just one step closer to finding out.
Good luck to all!
I got my email too, hopefully we're getting close to knowing! I would really like to give my work as much of a heads up as I can if I need to!
To any current students, how do you feel about working during the program? If I get accepted my work wants to give me a part-time position but I'm not sure how hard it would be to juggle. I really don't need the money too badly but I would like to keep my foot in the door at Banner (my current employer) to get a job after graduation. Also, what does a typical schedule look like? Are you on campus most of the day or are there gaps between classes? Thanks for your help!
The program is very accelerated and difficult , but you could work part-time. Several students in our class work, but it does make things tougher. Keeping your foot in the door at Banner would be worth it though. You never know what the market will be like when you graduate and any 'in' you have will be great. Especially if your work is offering to keep you part time, I wouldn't quit unless things got too out of hand!
There really isn't a typical schedule. Classes usually aren't back to back, but we normally didn't have more than a couple of hours between. Plan on making this program a full-time job plus studying pretty much every night. That isn't to say you won't have time for fun, but there is a lot expected of you outside of class. Between classes, assignments, online class/modules, lab, and clinical you will be busy. In the spring and summer you'll be on campus more than in the fall, if they keep the schedule the same as ours.
Waiting is the worst part! I hope you all find out soon!
