Will you please give any helpful information about the application and interview process? Do you mind sharing your stats?
I recommend having all your ducks in a row prior to interviewing. Out of the four people I know that interviewed this year I am the one that got in and I am convinced its because I had most items completed and they didnt. Also I was able to articulate a solid financial plan and family plan. They seemed very impressed that I had a budget on an Excel spreadsheet detailing my living expenses etc.
14 yrs exp in CVICU, CVPACU, ICU

GPA 3.3 undergrad (goofed off when I was young ) 4.0 for past 60 (was very slowly working on masters in nursing prior to this)

I am so happy to see your GPA. I have a Bachelors in another field and it was higher than my current GPA (after almost completing the ASN) of 3.43. I am working hard to get to the CRNA field. I am accepted to the BSN program out of MU in Columbia, MO and I just got hired in the Neuro Trauma ICU. My worry is that I will have completed all of these steps and I will get to the application process and find out that my GPA isn't high enough. I have completed both of my degrees while working full time and raising kids. My kids are now grown and I have the ability to do the CRNA program. Do they take into consideration what you had in your life while you were completing your prior degrees? Like working full time, raising a family while attending school full time? Congratulations on getting in!!!
I made a specific point of stating that those grades were obtained while working 50-60- hours per week and raising a family. I also mentioned that I was thrilled with the idea of being able to devote my time to studies and not have to work during school. They definately seemed to take all of it into account. Good luck!!!!
