Associates degree RN to non nursing BS/BA

Has anyone decided to go from an associates degree (+ some additional credits) in nursing -to a bachelors degree in a non nursing field. I am considering psychology/behavioral science, with a possible masters in marriage and family therapy in my future. I am also open to other degrees. I am seeking an online program, fairly reasonably priced, with flexibility in start dates, acceleration, good transfer policy, etc. I recently started an online RN to BSN and immensely disliked the program. I have finished and passed my courses (which I can hopefully take with me to transfer). While in the program I realize I basically have zero desire to study for a BSN. I have been a nurse 20+ years and work away from the bedside. A BSN is not a requirement for my job...

There are plenty of programs to suit your need. However, be aware that most, if not all, of your nursing courses are not going to transfer into degree requirements. Most schools will not even consider them elective credit.

My sister has a masters in mental health counseling. However, she did get her bsn along the way. She currently runs her own counseling business but works prn as a RN in rehab.

Did your sister have to go for any additional licensure after her masters? Her career sounds great!
