Assignment grading concern

Nursing Students Ohio University

Published

Just finished my last class 4510 this past Saturday. It is now Tuesday afternoon and my final paper and final BB postings have not been graded yet in Blackboard. My TA, who has been very nice but rather hands off, emphasized all last week how important it was to have final assignments in before deadline of this past Saturday by 8 am because grades had to be submitted by noon yesterday. Should I be worried?? I just don't have the time or patience to chew up my cell phone minutes or send emails into a black hole trying to follow up on this issue with OU. Anyone else going through this or had this issue previously? Thanks so much for any input.....

Are you guys still waiting on grades? I have grades for all my assignments in the class I took, but no over all grade yet. Anyone know how to calculate what the grade is based on points? Like how many we have out of the total possible?

I just looked at the percentage at the bottom of all the grades and figured it out from what was listed. I don't know though if that's the most accurate way of getting the overall grade.

I have all of the individual grades, but no overall course grade.

What do you mean percentage? I just have X points out of X points. I think I have an A, but curious if it could be A-.

You know when you go to that grade page that lists all of your grades for all of your assignments? If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page, it should show you that percentage that I'm talking about.

Another way I've done it is figure out what percentage your grade is to the total number of points. For example, I've figured out what percentage of the 300 total points is 95%; that will tell you how many points you have to see if you have an A instead of A-.

I hope this makes sense. I'm very math challenged personally, and sometimes I have a hard time explaining things like that :)

Hmmm mine doesn't show a percentage. I am completely math illiterate, so I have no clue how to figure that out, lol

They have a weighted grade, so it's not a straight u[ percentage. I think they are doing maintenance on blackboard till monday, so grades don't show up.

That's the pits though, cause I have to show my grade for tuition reimbursement, and I cant turn it in without the grade. I need tuition reimbursement to help me pay for community this term.

Bad timing.

Sorry!!! Is the weighted grade different than the final grade? I hope you get it soon so you can get your money

I have no final grade, but I have a total points, and a weighted total percent, but they don't match. so, I think I know the final grade, but not really sure.

OK this is off topic, but I was amazed. I looked at the course offering for Fall Semester. NRSE 4510 has 43 sections during the fall term with 2 start dates- so that is 10 weeks total, each with 30 students, that is 1290 students. multiply by $960 per student is $1,238,400.00 in only 10 weeks.

They are raking it in............

This disgusts me. Meanwhile the courses have become a joke. Can't wait to get the heck outta here...
