Hi anyone have any experience with Aspen University? I'm considering their program bc it's self paced and can be completed very quickly, which is key for me and it's a good price. No huge hidden fees like some colleges (ASU, etc). I also applied to CSUDH MSN program but I did my BSN there and it was Tedious to do group online work. Would love feedback on grad school. I want to start in the fall.

Greetings. The Aspen University online RN to BSN; RN to MSN; or MSN programs are all great! I have been enrolled in the RN to MSN program since 02/2012. I am hoping to complete the last 4 courses in time for graduation this July 2013. The program is all on-line, except for the clinical/practicum that must be completed. Yes, the student is reasonable for arranging a preceptor. The school provides a ton of help with locating a preceptor and completing the Capstone project.
The Dean of the Nursing Program is fabulous, informative, and responsive, as are all of the instructors. All of the instructors hold PhDs or DNPs. No group projects!!! You work at your own pace - unless you are planning on using financial aide - Uncle Sam has rules and regulations that he wants you to follow that limits the rate of your progress.
There is a lot of work and paper writing. However, you will find that in most online programs. You have to prove that you earned the degree. The cost is very inexpensive and I feel it has been well worth the expense. This is a no-frills degree program that helps the students to truly target the important stuff.
Good luck to you and I hope to see you on the Aspen Nursing Cafe blog!!

Hi jmuhammad10,
I am considered Aspen. Besides paperwork what type of work is assigned? Can you take multiple courses at one time?

I like the looks of Aspen, but their lack of regional accreditation is stopping my enrollment. Yes, I know they have DETC and nursing accreds, but keep in mind that IF you want to move past Aspen, you *might* have a problem transferring your credits. Same goes for American Sentinel. I do love the name, however! =)
I'll probably end up with WGU again if I decide to get the masters.

Hi everyone,
how are your rn-msn program going? I will be starting in december. However, I will be using financial aid. Did any of you use financial aid? I heard they still bill you couple thousand dollars when you use financial aid or stop you after taking couple classes and ask to pay if you want to continue with your classes. Is it true?
