Asking for time off

Hello everyone!

I have my first nursing interview on Thursday and had a question.

If I am offered a position, I was wondering how I would bring up the fact that I am in the wedding party of two weddings this year, or if I should bring it up at all.

One wedding is local and in July, and I would probably only need the night before and the day of the wedding off. The other is in October and is not local and I would need at least 3 days off. If I get hired, I will be part-time so no vacation days. Because I will be part-time, I may not even work at all. So should I just not mention it, and when the time comes and I work, should I just attempt to switch the days?

Thanks very much.

I wouldn't mention it. I too am part time and I can request days off as the schedule comes up. October time off may not be much of an issue because most are looking for summer or holiday time off. One day in July seems plausable. If you do end up getting scheduled, maybe you can switch and work a weekend for someone and they can work the one day for you.

Thanks very much, that makes sense!
