My mom has been having stomach pain for the last 4 weeks or so. Did basic blood work, tried the Prilosec route, finally did a CXR last Fri and abd CT on Sat. Saturday she was dx with RLL pneumonia ( she developed a cough through all of this) and then today the doc called and told her she has ascites and they think they saw a spot on an ovary. She is having the paracentesis done tomorrow.
I am not asking for a specific dx from anyone. Of course, my mind is running to the worse case scenarios. But I would just like to know if there is any specific tests or things that should be done -that maybe are not run of the mill? Docs in this area are not always very agressive about getting to the root of a problem. What are some of the things that you have seen with your patients that may have had the same thing? It is very hard to be objective and clear headed when it's your momma going through this. Any reassurance or advice at this point would be greatly welcomed! Thanks.
The posters above are correct. The membership is not in any way able to provide answers for your questions. These questions need to be asked of your mother's primary healthcare provider.
