Hi everyone,
I currently live in Denver but am planning on moving to Ohio to pursue my degree. (background: I'm from OH, moved to Denver, currently Married no kids; moving because husbands job requires him to travel 20 days/month and it's very expensive in Denver & the waitlist at my current school is 5 years). Since it has been 12 yrs since I moved from the area, I'm hoping to get some basic info from people still in the area. I would be living in Middletown (big change from Denver) so I would want a school that is no more than 45-50 minutes away. I am open to pursueing either an associates or bachelors degree. I'm 36 so I really want to get moving ya know? Anyway, I am currently attending Front Range Community College and have completed biology and beginning algebra, I am currently taking Anatomy and Phys. I, English, intermiediate algebra and health and nutrition. So! I checked out (online) Miami U. at Middletown which I know is competitive entry. I also looked at UC's Raymond Walter's for their associates. Does anyone know if there is a wait list? What about Sinclair? Do they have a waitlist too? Information is much appreciated! I am visiting my parents in December so I'm trying to get some of my ducks in a row ahead of time. thanks all!

I attend the university of cincinnati bsn program at the main campus before accepting my spot there i looked at raymond walters. there is a 2 year wait. I was supposed to start clincals this fall but instead got admitted into the bsn program so I took that. I also got accepted to the christ college of nursing which has no waiting list. I only know of those as well as good sam, cincinnati state and sinclair which also have long waiting lists.

Sinclair has a wait list of about 7 quarters, but you can work around that. The Accelerated Admission for Academic Achievement (aka Quad A) program allows you to gain accelerated admission if you meet the requirements. Here is a link to the specifics, http://www.sinclair.edu/academics/lhs/departments/nsg/sinfo/AdmissionRequirements/aaaa/index.cfm. I graduated with a bachelors in spring 2009, did all of my prerequisites, and started in Spring of 2010 through Quad A, so my wait was only the time it took to do the prerequisites. It is a really great program, and I am so excited to be done in June! Good luck, if you have any questions about the nursing program or Sinclair please don't hesitate to ask!

I am at Kettering College - an easy drive north from Middletown. The BSN program is roughly 3 years (no waitlist) and it is a really good school. You can get more information at http://www.kc.edu. The AS program is phasing out and the last class for AS will be admitted in January. I really like it there. A lot of personalized attention, awesome clinical instructors and skills lab. Really good overall. Feel free to contact me anytime. :) Good luck on your search.
Hey er3465,
Thanks for the info! I was planning on going for my BSN at Miami but am now thinking that maybe I should just go for my ASN at Sinclair. How long did you have to wait to get in? How long is the program was you do get in?
