Hey er3465, Thanks for the info! I was planning on going for my BSN at Miami but am now thinking that maybe I should just go for my ASN at Sinclair. How long did you have to wait to get in? How long is the program was you do get in?

AS/BS Programs near Cincy or Dayton
Hi everyone, I currently live in Denver but am planning on moving to Ohio to pursue my degree. (background: I'm from OH, moved to Denver, currently Married no kids; moving because husbands job requires him to travel 20 days/month and it's very expensive in Denver & the waitlist at my current school is 5 years). Since it has been 12 yrs since I moved from the area, I'm hoping to get some basic info from people still in the area. I would be living in Middletown (big change from Denver) so I would want a school that is no more than 45-50 minutes away. I am open to pursueing either an associates or bachelors degree. I'm 36 so I really want to get moving ya know? Anyway, I am currently attending Front Range Community College and have completed biology and beginning algebra, I am currently taking Anatomy and Phys. I, English, intermiediate algebra and health and nutrition. So! I checked out (online) Miami U. at Middletown which I know is competitive entry. I also looked at UC's Raymond Walter's for their associates. Does anyone know if there is a wait list? What about Sinclair? Do they have a waitlist too? Information is much appreciated! I am visiting my parents in December so I'm trying to get some of my ducks in a row ahead of time. thanks all! Jen in Denver

Waitlist length & what to do while waiting
Holy $#!* 3.5 years is a long time, you might as well get your BSN if you are going to have to wit that long. It makes me nervous that I might have to wait that long. I would think that alot of the info you learned in between then would fade away.

Thanks mi vida loca for the info! Do you know how long the waitlist is at FRCC if you don't already have a bachelors degree?

Waitlist length & what to do while waiting
Thank you both for your responses, they have made me feel a bit more confident in my decision and my original plan. I had planned on taking the remaining classes once I finish my pre req's and wait to be accepted and your answers just solidified my decision. I think making it competitive to get in is a great idea and makes alot of sense. While I plan on getting 100% in every class (wink, wink...hopefully!) is there anything else I can do to gain more "credit" such as working in a hospital etc...? I currently work in a senior community so I have had 4 years of working the elderly. Much thanks! Jen

Waitlist length & what to do while waiting
Hi everyone, At 35 yrs old I just figured out what I want to do with my life. After coming to this decision after a long thought process, I have enrolled at FRCC (Front Range Community College) and plan to enter their nursing program. I have a few concerns and a few questions that I am hoping someone on here can answer. I was looking at the classes you need to be placed on the waitlist and determined that I am looking at 4 semesters of school prior to be being placed on the Waitlist because I need 4 Biology courses. Needless to say that was a little disappointing but doable especially because I will be able to go full-time and work only part-time. My main worry is the length of the Waitlist. The school says that it is 1-2 years but I wanted to hear from actual students what their experience has been on Waitlist. I know 35 is young, but if i go to school for one year, then have to wait 3 to get into a program which is another year I will be 40 and just entering the workforce ... I look forward to everyone's responses! PS- I will getting my CNA this summer so I will have as well :)
