Army Nursing

Published

Hey everyone, just curious to see how many army nurses are on this forum, also wondering what you think of it. I am a 2 Lt waiting to go to obc. I have/had a slot at Ft. tripler but i have to retake my boards :( , so i don't know if i will still have a spot there or not. So anyone on active i would love to hear from, especially anyone at Ft. Tripler and especially anyone from 7C TAMC Bravo company, im a 66H (med surg nurse for those who don't understand the military lingo). Thanks a ton, Matt

Just wanted to thank you for serving our country and taking care of our troops! Best of luck on your boards.

Matt, thanks for service, I am thinking about going back in but to the reserves. They are giving commissions to ADN's, I only need 12 more years and will be eligible for the retirement beni's. Psqrd.

I appreciate the thanks. It was something that i always wanted to do, not exactly the branch that I wanted but its what i went to school for so i am gonna use my degree. I wanted infantry, but you don't always get what you want. I wanna push on for SF (special forces) eventually and onto delta if at all possible, but with an mos like mine it makes it hard to get selected. Either way im still in the army doing what i always wanted to do and useing my degree which i really like. The benefits are pretty sweet right now, as nurses are hard to get in the army currently. For me, i contracted for 6 yrs active duty with a total of 8 years owed (last 2 can be reserves or active), 60,000 in student loan payback (remember they take 28% for taxes so its actually like 40,000) and a 10,000 sign on bonus, plus guarantee one of my top three choices for my first duty station. So anyone out there thinking about doing it, pm me and i can get you some info or just go for it!! HOAH!!! Matt
