Army Nurse recruiting freeze

I had heard that there was a freeze going on for active duty accessions. Is there any truth to this and why? I would have chatted up my recruiter but he is still on leave for a week yet.

You don't want to go OCONUS? Lived in Italy for 3 years, it was awesome. I even went to Vicenza and Piza and stayed at the Army bases there. Great people, didn't even care I was Navy, HA-HA!!
