Army Nurse PCS question

Published

Hi all,

I am a new grad nurse preparing to go to the Jan 23 BOLC class and had a few questions about preparing my move. I'm set to report to TAMC in honolulu in April after BOLC. My recruiter said it would be best to arrange the shipment of housing material and automobile before I go to BOLC, but i'm worried about the charge from storing my material too long. I listed my parent as power of attorney of my household goods and was planning on doing so again for my car once I make an appointment with the car transport station. Can anyone share their own experiences or advice on this matter? Thanks so much!

The Army will pay for the storage. Even thou your parents have a POA they still Will need to be listed on shipping forms if they are going to be responsible for doing any shipping for you. Once you contact the transportation office they will be able to give you more specific s about your move . If possible keep your car at OBLC and ship it just before you graduate.

I agree, keep your car with you at BOLC. You will be MUCH happier you did. I just finished the july BOLC so Im at my duty station now.

Have fun in HI and let me know if you have any questions.
