Hey everybody, I'm starting a thread here for those applying to the Army Nurse Corps in FY2013. I figure this might be a good place to get to know other future nurse corps officers and a place for the veterans of the ANC to pass on some advice.
Share your story and hopefully we will meet down in San Antonio this Winter/spring of 2013
Ill start with my story,
I am a 28 y/o critical care nurse with 2 years experience in a level 2 trauma center in Virignia. I passed MEPS at Ft. Eustis and have submitted security packet, letters of reference and letter of intent.
I am applying to the October review board for Active Duty Army Nurse Corps for the 66H8A(critical care) and 66T(trauma) programs( I am not sure if they are still running this one, but you don't get what you don't ask for).
I am happily married with a baby on the way, my wife is 100% behind a move the Army and I feel blessed to have her love and support.
The road to the Army has been a long one with a degree in Biology, stint as a drug rep and return for an Accelerated BSN.
I love being a nurse and love working in critical care. I hope to serve my country in uniform treating service members & their families at home and in forward deployed units.
I want to be an critical care nurse and officer in the U.S. Army and I hope that I will get to meet all of you in uniform at BOLC, at MEDDAC, CSH or FST in CONUS or OCONUS.
Here's to all us achieving our dreams of becoming Army Nurses!
HOOOOOOAH!
OKOKOK this is killing me. So we know one person that applied for USAGPAN got in. Jesus just let us know. lol. My wife an I neither have fingernails, and the closer it gets to the time to know something, the more I have her getting prepared for the army, and reading FM's. Our house is like a battleground right now.

I definately second that emotion. I actually took some leave to be with my wife when she got the news either way and Call of Duty Black Ops is just not doing it anymore LoL. J/K. Hopefully we here something soon. The results are complete they are just not letting them out yet.
To be clear, if you are referring to me, I am not USAGPAN. I am already a CRNA. This is a direct commission to join as a 66F in the Reserves. I hope all of you hear good news soon.
OH, that does clear it up. Honestly it seems like better news for us, I would think if you found your results we should all hear something soon. I would love for it to be today.
Lets hope we hear something by tomorrow. It would be a REAL long weekend if we have to wait until Monday!! Praying for good news for everyone! It seems like everyone on here really wants to join the Army and YOU ALL deserve it!! I hope we can all possibly meet soon enough!
I was thinking the same thing....hopefully tomorrow's the day!! From my personal experience, you have to really really want to join the Army as the delays and paperwork would deter all but the most determined :) it's sounds like our hearts and kinds are in the right places--hopefully we will all meet and laugh over how worked up we all were!!
My coping mechanism during most of this process has been to just assume its going to be a "no" so that I didn't get my hopes up. Every little step like getting the paperwork done, MEPs, QC were like small victories. If it actually happens I might seriously be unprepared for the news.other than my physical fitness part. I know that my reserve unit will be in Maryland and a five hour drive ( had to get that approved too). I agree that a person has to really want this bad to go thru everything. My motivation has never been money. I was shocked when they told me the bonus amount
