Arkansas State University 2020 CRNA

Updated:   Published

Hello all! I haven't seen a thread for the Arkansas State CRNA program that starts in January of 2020. I've sent in my application and have been reading (and re-reading) old A-State CRNA threads about the interview process and all that so I thought we could start one for this cohort!

Specializes in ICU, CCRN.

Yes! How’d it go today guys?! I was thinking about everyone this morning.

Came for my interview this afternoon. My interview was originally at 4pm but they called and said they had a few cancellations and could I come for the 11am or 1pm, i said i could be there for the 1pm.

Arrived took the test.

Waited. Looked over the test several times. Another candidate came and started taking the test. Then they called for me.

3 interviewers. Same 2 from previous years and a new 1.

They went through my resume.

Asked about certifications.

Went through pieces of the test.

I felt so nervous I couldn't think. I definitely didn't articulate who I really am. I'm usually pretty good under pressure. Idk. I just couldn't get my words out.

I still hope they can see through how nervous I was and see who I really am.

So we shall see ??‍♀️.

Overall, I will say that it was not a tough interview, they weren't trying to grill me or anything. They were very nice and wanted me to feel comfortable. I'm glad I did it regardless of the outcome, I will definitely take something away from all of it.

What did you think of the test?

It wasn't a hard test or anything .

I did my interview today too. It went literally exactly how @roakman described it.

The test wasn’t too difficult. It was about 11 questions (I think). We only went over 2 questions from the test.

The interview itself was about 10ish minutes. Not bad at all.

They said they are interviewing all next week and we should hear feedback about a week or two after that so I’m assuming mid September we will know if we are in or not.

Good luck to everyone! ?

The interview went exactly the way roakman described it to a "T". Test was not bad. I felt extremely nervous despite the fact that they really try to make you fee comfortable. But it was short and I didn't like I was able to describe to them who I really am. I really think being nervous for an interview and crumbling under pressure/stress are two different things and they know that ( at least I hope) You want something sooo badly you tend be extremely nervous. They went over 2 questions on the test with me as well. Does anyone the name of the third person? Dr Black, Dr Hammon, is the other person Dr McKinney ( i can't remember)? I knew about the two from the previous years but definitely not the third one!

@Anastasiadreams1221 I can’t remember the name of the other lady either, but here is the lists of the faculty. None of the names sounded familiar to me though.

Her name is Dr. Massey, she's new there so she's not on the website yet.

Are they doing interviews all week this week? You guys interviewing this week let us know how it goes!

Specializes in CCRN - SICU.

They told me that would be doing interviews this week through Friday.

If anyone hears feedback next week let us know!

According to previous posts on this acceptance offers will be via email and denial letters will be sent in the mail. Who knows how this year will go though.
