Everyone else does it so I thought I'd throw another hat in the ring. Who out there is going to anesthesia school at ASU starting Jan. 2007? I'll see ya there!

according to the number of names listed in my interview invite for this saturday, there are about 20 of us interviewing this weekend. i don't have email access right now to verify the exact number of interviewees, but i think it was around 15-20. check your email and you should see the addresses listed on the recipient line..

good luck to every body. I will be the blonde haired guy from austin, tx.

Specializes in ICU, CCU & PCCU/TELEMETRY.

I also interviewed at ASU in November. I have CCRN and have worked in CVICU, a trauma unit, and on a neuro unit. I studied critical care issues, hemodynamics, and meds prior to the interview, but they still managed to come up with questions that I didn't know. :o Of the three places I interviewed, this was the most unfriendly. The CRNA interviewers were rude and condescending. At the end I was put int o a room with several people, including Mrs. Campbell. They told me to just talk. Didn't ask any question or anything. Gave short or one word answers to questions I asked them. Generally made me feel worse that the previous two stations did. That station was a waste. I feel bad that I wasted time, money, and energy on that application process. That's just me. I guess others of you had positive experiences that same day.

Soooo....I am guessing that you didn't get in. I found just the opposite to be true. They were pretty friendly, the students were the most uptight but ok. I was able to converse with folks and the crna that interviewed me during the knowledge portion was great...we walked things through and I thought it was pretty cool. Many people have said on this site that interviews at other places hadn't gone well despite studying, etc. You never know sometimes. Perhaps it was just one of those days? Good luck.

Obviously I am partial to ASU because I had a pretty good experience and was accepted. Just understand that everyones experience or perception of the interview process will be different. I'm sure people came out of ASU with a bad taste in their mouth, but that doesn't mean everyone will. I have interviewed at a couple of different schools and no where was really the same. So just take that for what it's worth, just be yourself, be enthusiastic, and don't try to BS them, because they will see right through that mess. Hopefully you will have a good experience and become a classmate.

by the way, congrats rayman and vadrn. asu is a great university with an excellent and helpful staff, and jonesboro's a great place to live. good luck with anesthesia school!

Hello Rayman and Vadrn, I also have been accepted into the Jan 2007 class at ASU. I am looking forward to starting class, even though I know it will not be easy. My experience during the interview was great, biased I'm sure by the acceptance letter.... I know several people that are in the 2006 class and they are loving it. I have been Critical Care Nursing for about 12 years and I am ready for the next step. I will send you guys a personal message, since I notice these post were placed last month.
