Arizona State University - Summer/Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Who else here is applying to ASU for the summer or fall 2014 cohort? Applications are all due February 1! There are 60 spots for summer dpc, 60 spots for fall dpc, 30 spots for fall at Mayo, and 20 spots for fall at the VA hospital. Lots of options this year. What are you guys choosing? How is your GPA and TEAS? I'm going to be a nervous wreck until i get a letter in the mail that will either confirm or squash my dreams. I really want to get into Mayo. That would be so awesome.

I am applying for Fall 2014! (: I'm super nervous but excited to apply, and I'm thrilled to know how many spots are open.

I'm being extremely hopeful because I'm probably applying with a 1.57/1.6 out of 2.0, and I'm probably going to be applying for Fall as my main choice and maybe VA. I know a few girls who got in with a 1.6 so I'm hopeful, but terrified. I'm with you on being a nervous wreck, I've been freaking out since the beginning of this semester!

Good luck!! (:

I am the Director of Undergraduate Student Academic Services for the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation at ASU. Best wishes to both of you in your pursuit of the BSN at ASU! [COLOR=#003366]Froyoagogo you are correct about the number of spaces available for summer/fall 2014. Lots of spaces! I want to make sure that transfer students know that they can compete for these spaces, too. The academic advisors and I know how stressful this process is and hope that you are successful.

I am also applying for the summer and fall! I got an 85 on the Teas and my application gpa is like a 3.7. I am very nervous! Best of luck to you guys! :) I hope we all get in

Just submitted my application yesterday! (: Trying not to be nervous and instead put all of my energy towards Patho and Statistics, but I'm still very excited.

Good lucky everyone!!

I am applying for the Summer '14 semester. I am so nervous becasue of I have a couple of petitions for a couple of immunizations still needed and I still need to take HCR 220. I have to have it all in by the end of the week! Crazy! I am so excited and nervous at the same time!!! It helps to know we are all in the same boat!

I'm taking my TEAS tomorrow morning and then going to submit my application right after. :)

I will post my combined GPA - TEAS advancement score after that.

So I scored an ~89% on the TEAS and my GPA is 3.75 ( I believe). I am going to recalculate but I think that puts me around 1.8?

I turned in my application on Tuesday. My selective GPA is 3.65, and I score an 85.3 on my TEAS, so my advancement score is 1.7655. I had a couple of petitions that I'm hoping won't hurt me too bad (one last minute class and the final Hep B shot). Good luck everyone!

I had to send in a petition for my Hep B! But I don't think it will hurt us at all. (: I'm applying with a 1.5192, a little bit lower than I wanted but still a decent score from what I heard. Plus with all the applicants hopefully there will be room for me! lol

Hi, hopefully I'll see some of you in the Summer 2014 program. I applied and did my Teas V on 01/31/14 (thank God it's over!). I'm confident in my academic scores but I needed a petition for my Mumps booster. It stinks just sitting here and waiting! I've been lurking these forums all week just looking for something to better myself. Maybe I'll try and memorize the A+P book? (Probably not :)

As for the formula it's your (GPA x .25) + (Teas Score x 100%) for a max total of 2 points.

I noticed that some of the previous nursing class's students created Facebook groups. Maybe we should do that as well? Some tips I got were to get the NCLEX review guide and go over the test questions for the sections that we will be concurrently taking. I was recommended the "Saunder's NCLEX Review book". I have the whole thing in PDF format so holler at me if anyone is interested.

I'm also thinking of getting my CNA at Pima Medical Institute while we're waiting. If anyone else is interested in that, it takes about 6 weeks and runs $1000. There seems to be mixed feelings about getting a CNA before an RN program, but I think I'm going to do it. *shrug*

So umm... yeah... HI! (again). I plan on kicking ass, and if you do as well, let's talk so we can lighten each other's work load once the semester starts :)
