Hi!, I'm in block 3 of my RN program and am looking to start by BSN bridge program fall of 2016. Any recommendations for in-state and out-of-state programs? Thanks so much!!

The 4 main universities are NAU, GCU, ASU, and UofA. They are listed in order of cost. I am going to attend NAU starting this fall while still in Block 4 at SCC. NAU is the only school that allows you to start the RN-BSN during 3rd block or later if not enrolled in CEP. So far the process with them has been pretty smooth. I was able to do everything online, but it did take about a month and a half to get everything processed by them. I know someone going to ASU in spring for their RN-BSN who said it was similar for processing, so that is probably pretty normal. I have heard good things about all 4 programs and chose NAU purely for price. UofA is the most prestigious of the Universities in Arizona, followed by ASU if that matters to you. GL

Hi, thank you for the info! I have started the process with NAU as well because of the relatively low cost. I have to take 4 classes before I can actually start the NAU program, so I figured two next spring and two next summer and THEN I can start the program....long process! That's great you can start in block 4! Best of luck! I have read some posts about out-of-state programs...have you looked into any of those?

Western Governors University, Ohio University, and University of Southern Indiana are very cost-effective options.

Im curious what classes you need to take in order to apply for the RN-BSN through NAU or ASU from block 3 or 4?

Thanks

NAU is the only AZ university (that I'm aware of) that allows dual enrollment in the RN-BSN program starting in block 3. The rest wont admit until you have passed NCLEX. The classes you need to take are listed on the NAU RN-BSN site. Just search it when going to the NAU site. Same for ASU.

I don't know much but when I went to my orientation for ASU (I'm a CEP student) there was a couple of people that were starting in block 3. I would recommend talking to a nursing advisor at either the university or CC for a solid answer.
