ASU Post-Baccalaureate BSN 2017 - Welcome

Hey everyone,

I am a current post-bacc student at ASU. I wanted to start a thread for all of you who are applying for the 2017 class. Last year we had amazing support from the 2015 class, so we wanted to carry on that tradition and provide you all with the same support system. Feel free to use this thread to ask questions and seek advice. Many of my classmates will be on here answering your questions as well!

Good luck to you all!

Has anyone asked how many applicants there were this year?

Good luck to everyone.

@sundevil2015- how did you end up doing on your teas? I assume well since your practice scores were so high.

@Jlg830

I ended up getting an 86 % on the actual exam. The reading and English scores were similar to my practice scores but my math was a bit lower. The timer is what threw me off  so overall my advancement score is 1.79.

How do we find out how many applicants there are?

The advisor told me that we can email them around mid-end sept. to find out how many application for this cycle.

Nice! Well I'll ask the advisor I worked with around that time and I'll share if no one has already.

Is the wait driving anyone else insane? And they've only had our applications for 3 days :banghead:

Hey guys,

I went through my emails to see when I started hearing back from ASU regarding my placement last year. Similar to you, we applied in September. I received an email in October that had a copy of my application and had me confirm that everything was correct. I then received an email in early November regarding my application status. I hope that helps with the nervousness! Good luck :)

A friend of mine emailed her advisor who said they had 48 applicants this year (for spring 2017 post bac) for an expected 48 spots... So basically no one needs to worry apparently lol.

If that is in fact true, I will be insanely overjoyed

I emailed my advisor just now to see if he has the same response. I'll post when he replies.

I was told that they don't know the total yet

I've started a FB page for current 2017 applicants. I'm the one who emailed my adviser and was told there were 48 potential slots (they're hoping to accommodate this many but it's not for sure) and there are 48 applicants. The lowest for several years! I'm still very nervous.

That sounds like great news. I'm pretty sure that the class size last year was 48 and it would be for this year, at least that's what my advisor told me. Maybe your advisor is trying to not exactly say that we got in given that the number of applicants matched the number of spots? I hope that's the case. If so, maybe it'll speed up the process and we'll know sooner rather than later

There are only 48 applicants this year!? Did anyone else ask their advisors and find out if that is the consensus? That would be so awesome!
