Anybody familiar with Queen Creek AZ?

It sounds like a great area to raise a family from the internet info I got, but I would like to hear from the people that have actually visited or live near there.

Thank you

Just thought I would put in my two cents. We bought a house in the copper basin "terra collection". It is becoming very difficult to purchase homes in the east valley at all. They are starting waiting lists and lottery's. Copper basin had people in line at 0800 and sold five homes in nine minutes and people left very mad. They will release another five homes this week and there will be a lot of people there. Power Ranch is sold out completly, I am sure it's the same with Johnson ranch? Our home has gone up $9000 in price in less than eight weeks. If you are planning on moving to this area you have really got to get in NOW. Our finish date is July/August for our home. The prices are still really good out there but you need to get in now. Copper Basin is a first come first serve basis. So the day they have the release you need to be there and be first in line and have your $2500 and you should get a house. Most other builders are just doing a lottery. We love our "soon to be house" and cant wait. As long as this demand keeps up, all of our property values are soaring. Hope this helps, we came from Tulsa Oklahoma.

The newer housing developments are usually small lots, they build a ton of houses all looking exactly alike and VERY close together .... the demand for housing is insane, so the have to build a ton in a short amount of time, therefore they all look alike and crowded in together. Chandler and Gilbert each get 1,000 people moving in each month. So I agree if you don't want that and want more room then the older housing developments would be the way to go.

I remember when there was nothing in Queen Creek!! Anyone else remember that? lol. My aunt and uncle used to live out in the country, out on Riggs road, all dirt roads and farm lands, they were the only trailer for miles and miles around. Now all that is housing developments and shopping centers :uhoh21:

In high school I worked with a few people that lived in AJ and commuted to our work (Fry's in Tempe .... took them about 45 minutes to get there) and they seemed to like pretty well in AJ. As far as the traffic, you just learn to avoid it, it's never bothered me much. Most people work in Phx, so going into Phx during morning rush hour will be bad, but going to the east valley at that hour would be fine. Going into Phx during afternoon rush hour wouldn't be as bad, but going towards the east valley during that time is insane, everyone going home. You just learn what freeways get congested when and where and you adjust.

Let us know how it goes next month! Good luck to you all!

We were hoping to live in Gilbert when we relocate from the uk later this year hopefully as I understand that the schools in the east valley are good but we are willing to look around what will we get for our mony in chandler or gilbert we were hoping for a pool as well we will be spending between 250000-300000 it depends how long it will take to get some credit drating to get a morgage.

Any new info on queen qreek?

Queen Creek had some infamous news a couple of weeks back. Several schools in the area are way behind in construction schedule and the parents are perturbed. They are paying premium taxes for these types of new infrastructure and their kids are overcrowded in other school buildings. I think the student to teacher ratio was over 40 which is unheard of in elementary school.

was this a news article?

I saw it on the local evening news, but I'm sure there were news articles on it as well.

For the most part, these type of delays are caused by a shortage of workers and supplies. It's a common problem in fast growing areas.

My mom just bought a house there. It's like a real nice area away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I guess it's mostly personal preference of city or suburb.
