U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hi all, I'm new to this site (just joined today). But I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm applying for the Aria Health SON and would love to meet others who are applying for the September 2012 academic year.

Specializes in ORTHO, TRAUMA, MED-SURG, L&D, POSTPARTUM.

Yeah it is scary to think all our costs add up to around 30k! Yikes! Another reason I'm trying to finish in 2 yrs vs almost 3!

you never need to bring your nursing books to class. they lecture off of powerpoints. those things are heavy so i wouldnt bring it

Thanks for the tip Bumblebee! Hopefully, we finally get to meet you in person soon:)

Ladies for one of the books, the nursing diagnosis manual, it's not available through the aria intranet and library, but it IS available through the Penn State library as an Ebook! So don't spend money buying it!:w00t:

Ayanna, do you have the link to that by any chance?

What is the dress code for classroom setting. I know that they want us to wear our uniforms to labs when we get them and obviously for clinical days. But what about the classroom? I know no short shorts, but what about flip flops or flats? I thought I read 'shoes' not 'sneakers' in the student handbook somewhere.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around which books I definitely need to buy. I only got the fundamental books so far. I already have a copy of the apa manual for my engl class. I'm trying to save as much money as possible.

Did everyone fininsh their nurse logics? I totally forgot about them until yesterday.

I did the nurse logics on Friday, I had forgotten about them too.

I got a few of the books on craigslist...both volumes of the 12th ed med-surg books for $85, it was great because they were not highlighted in at all and DID include the CD. I also really lucked out because another seller on C.L. sold me the Henke's med math book for $25 plus for $5 she threw in the Taylor's skills DVD set and she gave me Saunders' Test success for free. Even though we need the Nugent Test success, you can't beat free! But I totally feel you on trying to save money as much as possible.
