Aria School of Nursing September 2012

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi all, I'm new to this site (just joined today). But I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm applying for the Aria Health SON and would love to meet others who are applying for the September 2012 academic year.

That's so weird! I was able to get mine, I went to the Torresdale Campus though. Of course, it came out looking crazy due to the humidity and rain, but I did manage to get one.

Did you have a id number? The guard said I needed one.

No they gave it to me there.

I figured he didn't know what he was talking about...

I vaguely remember Elizabeth saying you get an id number at the security office....

Orientation is over! I can't believe we start in one month! :w00t:

I didn't even see you Kristin:sniff: But I honestly don't think my brain (or wallet) could take another orientation day. Between equipment, books, shoes, uniforms, tests, ID's....I couldn't wait to walk through my front door!

@Philliesgirl Yes I'm so glad to be done. Its good to have all that information covered over so we can focus on class information later. I'm sure it will be a lot to take in. I'm always a bit overwhelmed the first week or two...getting a study routine down, grasping due dates, and guiding myself through the course polices and procedures. Also I'm glad I learned your names beforehand cause I have a lot of new names to learn!

@Simplyblessed Yeah my mom couldn't believe how much upfront costs are needed for Nursing School. Between the books, uniforms, medical kit, and childcare costs I need $2000 to pay for it all. Luckily my parents are helping me out with some of it. Hopefully I'll find the books used for about half that.

Are any of you planning on reading the eight fundamental chapters to get it out of the way? I'm almost afraid not too. ;b First I have to order the books and that might take a week or more to receive. Then I'll have to squeeze in reading around my vacation from 8/23-29.

Does anyone remember our nursing shoes needed to be solid white? I do remember no mesh. I found these cute nursemate shoes with a grey paisley pattern. They probably don't fit the requirement though.

Oh...i just remembered they said no cream, beige, or taupe ...so grey paisley is def a no-no. lol

Do we need patches for the lab coat and polo, or just the scrub tops?

@ Holly, girl don't even mention childcare!

@ Ayanna I was actually wondering about the patches myself.
