Just wanted to see who else was currently applying for the January 11' start date. My application is in RAP review as of today. I went in with like a 3.2GPA and did very well on my TEAS. I scored an 87% on it which put me in the 94th percentile nationwide. When I went on the interview I was told the TEAS score was very good and my GPA was good as well. I'm kind of bugging out. I want this so bad because I don't want to wait a whole year to re-apply for the fall classes. Finger's crossed. Anyone else out there applying now as well?

I have no idea what it is. It said reminder...how is it reminding me when this is my first time hearing about it? if you guys dont know i guess ill have to call tomorow

i'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to us but we are on the list to receive emails from sonis.

i was also wondering what other people are doing about health insurance. i will be giving my notice in the next few weeks. i haven't fully looked into the ones suggested on the website yet.

did anybody else get an email today about items they may be missing?

my email said i am missing the criminal background check and my cpr card. i know the cpr card is being mailed directly to school. i thought the criminal background check was done by the school also? i sent back my child abuse clearance and the fingerprint fbi clearance. it also said i need to have my dr. provide the brand name of my tdap booster that i received last month.

I thought the same thing about the email, so thats why i wasnt jumping on it.

I just checked my email and i didnt get a missing items letter. I had sent them a letter from my CPR instructor that i completed the course, but would be receiving my card in a few weeks. I thought it said you didnt need to prove it till January anyway???

Hmmm the criminal backround check they were supposed to do??? Id call them.

Hey guys i received an email about a Learning Resource Survey. What is that about??? I have to go to the school and pickup a code---huh? I guess ill have to try to get out of work early one day this week.......

That survey is for current students not you guys. I notified Sam our computer Tech that somehow you guys must be on the bulk email list already and got this list in error. It is how we rate our teachers and the clinical sites and the courses offered every semester....so spread the word I don't think you need to do this.

the cpr card is sent to the school

right you will need to have your dr office or where ever you got the adacell at give you written verification that it was actually adacell and not just an old school tetorifice shot... (chop requires proof of this)

as far as the criminal background check no you must do this....

you have to do it and send into the state for that

you have to do the fbi fingerprint

you have to do the child abuse

that is 3 separate things.......all done by you they come to you in the mail and you make a copy for your records and then give karen the registrar the original :)

as far as insurance......most people if they have kids can try and apply for county assistance, or go on their spouses, or parents if they are young enough.....or there is a pretty cheap thing that you can buy which is like a cya (cover your ass policy) it is good for nothing other than to prove to the agencies that you have an insurance card.....yeah it sucks

Yeah I sent back the FBI and Child Abuse. Is that what you sent back?

When I started we did our own criminal background checks, and we still update ours every 2 years....FBI is updated and child abuse every year but criminal is updated every 2 years.....

any who i dug out my files from when I first started and found out how to get a criminal background done....and you need a PA criminal background done even if you live in NJ or DE

ok it cost 10 last year

go to the web site https://epatch.state.pa.us/home.jsp

under credit card users select submit a new record check

then accept at bottom of page

then fill out personal info

on the personal info page select health care as the reason for request

BE SURE TO keep your CONTROL # click on the word CERTIFICATION FORM

and print the final page

But if you guys say the school is now doing them I would call and clear that up......from what I understand they are not able to do them b/c they are not a big university so we have to do the leg work......some large universities have a way around and are able to get them with out the added security of use having to get it and give it to them.

I just checked the portal for the student login and if i'm not mistaken, they already posted the classes i'll be taking for this semester. So i'm not sure if we get to pick the classes we want to take bc they are already registered. Although, i might add, i already was going to choose those classes but i just wanted to be able to pick my own, lolol..so i guess. I need to find out if this is going to happen every semester...hopefully not bc i have a plan and i want to stick to it
