  1. I'm an acute nurse I always give venofer or any other iron infusion in the last hour. My rational for doing so is if they get sick and demand to terminate treatment at least they completed most of the treatment for clearance and fluid removal
  2. You need to be bls (basic CPR certified) to do acls. Most places will pay for it for you. Concentrate on getting a job first!
  3. Kaplan was a JOKE a waste of money....my school forced us to all take the kaplan course....My test was 2 select all that apply for every multiple choice....I passed first try and had 86 questions....But I thought Kaplan was no help, what was good was paying attention in school. All Kaplan did was hold up my school from sending my info to my State BON and then I had to wait longer for an authorization to test.....I say save your money, pay attention in school....I only had one question from Kaplan and it was the easiest question on the whole test....not that the test was easy....NOT A FAN OF KAPLAN.....
  4. just my but one doesn't usually go to school to be an RN if they want to be a PA....It takes WAY to LONG that way and its two different tracks....You'll see what I mean when your in it.....Maybe a NP or something.....Like I said just my , but think about it before you waste your time
  5. i was at holy redeemer and we walked in and walked out...Since that semester is psych, OB and peds there is not enough time anymore.... but some people in my class that were at Einstein did get to spend 1 day in the NICU.....Probably not what you wanted to hear.....But on the flip side many schools wanted to take the specialties out of clinical, Aria decided to keep them by packing them all into one semester. Basically take what you can get type thing
  6. ok lets get this straight.... 1 Aria is moving up the blvd to the neshimany interplex, it will not be in frankford for very ,much longer 2 its about to become a bachelors degree program..... and for those of us now that is are there now we can just take the rest of the classes online at PSU world campus or at the abington campus or at the torresdale campus of the hospital hope this clears up the confusion....although i thought we cleared this up a few days ago.... :)
  7. why push up farther if its coming out and then stopping???? How much does he weigh???? because urine should really be figured out by body weight not by ml/hour...maybe that's all he needs to make if he is very thin, and if he is not drinking or replacing fluids that may be all that is there.....
  8. right its a BS in Nursing which is the same thing....but its not in black and white YET but its true......its like fresh off the press, sorta like a you heard it here first type of thing.... :)
  9. in my nursing school we learned nail care in fundamentals, use a file and the wood stick like Brian Ruff CNA has stated, as well as NEVER use a clipper. PLUS don't do diabetics. But does your nurse manager want this documented each day??? That is crazy, is this LTC or acute care? I could see maybe in LTC and on a weekly basis maybe but everyday, how fast does the NM think someones nails are growing???
  10. no that is what i will have to do, however for new incoming students they are going to be a BSN program....I missed the boat because I am done this semester...However for new incoming freshman they are going to stop being a diploma program in the VERY near future and only offer BSN....
  11. Aria is going to be a BSN program so I would def go with them I am about to be done there and will be doing their bridge with Penn State but I would go there again.
  12. i will have to ask my friend but i know he started at 31.50 and was going to get a $3 raise in 90 days he works 4, 10 hour day shifts....i'll ask about the benefits and get back to ya! :) But he was
  13. it all depends, because my friends that work at Davita Diaylsis but in the Philly area started at $31.50/hr, as their 1st job fresh out of school so it all depends on your area......
  14. if its not on your record than its not there relax, you were young and hopefully grew up! calm down if anything consult a lawyer. Take them copies of you state criminal background check, and FBI check. Did your nursing school not help you with this? My nursing school helped us fill these forms out. Good Luck
