Arghhh, my aching legs & feet!

I am a recent graduate and my lower legs have been killing me when I get home. All I want to do is lie on my couch with my feet up when I get home from work. Anyone have any advice?

I am finishing up my preceptorship and I know the pain you all are speaking of. It seemed after the first couple days my legs adjusted but my feet kill me at the end of 12-14 hours because I rarely sit down.

My problem is...i found a sore under my pinky toe that I think was a blister from working the other day. I barely can feel it but it's wide open, not red though. I worry about infection because it's in the crease and I can't cover it. I work my last 12 on friday and I hate to think what it will look like then. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Definitely try the compression stockings. Make sure you get the right ones, because there are some support hose that do not really give the level of compression it indicates it would.

What do you wear with support hose? I'm so confused.......You can only wear support hose or support socks? Which is better? What's the difference between compression and support socks? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

what's the major difference between support hose and support stockings? Which is better?

I like NurseMate shoes. I do put little gel insoles in them especially when I did clinicals at nursing homes it required a lot of standing. Though now my feet throb nearly all the time. One remedy my fiance' gave me was to soak my feet in cold water with epsom salts from 30-60mins. I know it sounds like soaking them too long but it really helps.

i feel your pain, i am going through the same thing. when i wake up the next morning after a shift my feet still hurt! i have spent so much money on shoes, danskos killed my feet, i was almost in tears by the end of the night. i've tried anywear clogs, same thing. i am just sticking to new balance tennis shoes, but my feet still ache. maybe the fact that i never get to sit down, not even while charting is the reason :crying2:

i feel the exact same way! i have had reebok classics, nike shoxs, and now rockports, all worn with compression hose and recently dr. sholls insoles. as soon as i get off that 12 hour shift, all i can do is lay down. the fiance thinks i'm being lazy but he noticed just last night, how much pain i was in. i was still in pain after i laid down for bed. i don't know what to do. i hate the aching and pain of my lower legs and heels (pain rating= 8/10).
