Are TOMS acceptable nursing shoes?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

Hey all! I start clinicals in January and was hoping for some feedback from experienced nurses on what shoes would be best on the job. I assumed I could wear Toms as they are super comfortable and low key. Have any of you worn Toms during shifts? Any advice would be great !!

Thanks :)

Thanks everyone!! I will definitely look into a more sturdy shoe. Thanks :)

Toms are great but not for work. I wear New Balance.

an unknown fluid seeping through your shoes......

laughing and barfing over that comment

I order my wife Dansko's twice year from Amazon (from research on this site)... Work great for her 12hour shifts, much more supportive than tennis shoes for her. She got her first pair locally to get the correct size. They're $110-130 per pair, but well worth it...also compression socks from Ames Walker.

I wear Sperrys. Comfy and breathable. They start to look worn easily though. Thinking about buying the new washable Sperrys.
