Depends on the total of the bonus, and what you were given. A facility can set them as they please. And remember, what you need to return is what they paid you gross for the bonus, not what was left after taxes were taken out. You will get that back when you file your taxes at the end of the year.
And remember, that you are speaking of a contract for an International nurse, not the routine two year contract. You will be better off posting this in the International Forum. International contracts are quite different from the regular ones.
The one that I was offered last year was 5k split over 4 qtrs. I only took the first payment b/c the facility was/is unstable and unsafe and after working the first quarter I wasn't sure if I would be there for the rest of the money. Of course now I could kick myself in the butt b/c I have ended up being there for the full year and am just now changing hospitals. Oh well:uhoh3:
At the hospital I started at, they gave you $1000.00 3 months after you began, and then 9 months after that (one year from when you started), you get another $1000.00. There is no contractual agreement for this money...although I suppose they feel if they get that year, then there was the $2000.00 As far as I know, you could get the last payment and then quit, no questions (hard feelings though I suspect). They will also reimburse you for all your educational expenses in school, in exchange for signing a 2 year contract agreeing to work there. If you don't fulfill it, then you owe them back whatever they paid you---DOUBLED!!
