Are my scores good enough?

Published

Hi guys,

I'm testing on Friday, eeeek!!

I have been doing practice tests of varying lengths to try and get an idea of how I will do if I get 75 vs. 265 questions.

Well, my average scores are 75 - 78%

I was quite surprised that I managed to get a 78% on a 265 question test. It sure is a lot of questions!! I really hope my test isn't that long!

Anyway, does it seem like these scores will lead me to a pass?! Any advice for last week of studying will be much appreciated :)

Where did you take the test? Saunders, Kaplan, etc. Each test has different expected passing values.

If those are Kaplan scores I believe your scores have a strong correlation to success

The scores of from the NCLEX 3500 program.

Try test 6 or 7 from Kaplan. I believe it is a free download. These are above the line questions. Looks good so far.

I did Kaplan as well as Saunders and others and got the same score ranges as you and passed today with 75 questions. :) Sounds like you'll do great!

Thanks guys! I'm nervous, I really need to pass first time. Plus, I have been a nurse since 2008 in the UK, so fairly embarrassing if I fail :scrying:

Plenty of time to just review.

What are your secrets to such great scores.

Thought I would jump in here...I beat myself up for the last 4 or 5 days because I was taking exams from Saunders, Hurst, NCLEX 4000, AND NCSBN. My scores for all except Hurst were mid 60's to upper 70's. Hurst was a little higher, but not much. I kept taking exams hoping I would do better, that maybe somehow if I hit a magic number I would be ready for the NCLEX. I took the NCLEX today and can tell you the scores didn't matter. Do the exams, read the rationales and then just go do the best you can. I left the test today feeling horrible. Convinced I failed. Came home and did the PV trick and got the "good" popup....Did I pass? Not in stone yet, but indications are yes...

Thanks for your advice. It's kind of hard not to get caught up in scores etc. One of my problems is that I often second guess myself and then my first instinct is usually right!!

Anyway, I just did Kaplan Test 7 and I got a 65%, which is not as high as I would have liked :(

Try test 6 or 7 from Kaplan. I believe it is a free download. These are above the line questions. Looks good so far.

Where to download the q trainer 6 & 7?? Please send link.. Thank you!

I wasn't able to download, but if you google it you can find them in slide form.
