Are nurses forced to assist abortions?

Nurses Activism

Hello,

I'm looking into a career as an RN and I am just curious - Are nurses forced to assist abortions? I've heard recently of several nurses being forced to assist or they lose their job. Is this the case with most hospitals?

I've asked on other sites and apparently it's a dumb question, sorry.

Thanks for your help.

BillyTheKind: Abortion isn't against the laws of nature; it's against Papal edict supported by St. Augustine and other ancient thinkers who had no idea of societies that would be so crowded as to never allow the majority of their populations to have enough food, shelter, water, land, etc.; and that those who live in relative wealth and peace would condemn to a fiery hell a woman who already had too many kids. But aside from that, is it ever wise to "ignore all the religion and legal crap"? People gave a great deal of THOUGHT to these disciplines and a person who lives solely on instinct and does what he/she can "live with" will certainly make the world an uglier place to live.

I am not Catholic, or really religious of any kind so your wrong if you think I am adhering to papal law. No I am saying it is against the laws of NATURE. I say this because each living think has a purpose, from the mosquito that lives for a few hours to be eaten to the spider that lives a few months that eats him. A purpose. That purpose to the be born, fill a role and die.....naturally. Murder, in whatever way you call it, euthanization, abortion, murder, whatever is a unnatural shortening of that life, thus I see it as unnatural.

The world would indeed be an uglier place if we did what we could live with because currently the world is rotting cesspool of filth where even the kindest person would step on your back to go over a puddle if the right circumstances presented itself. We should adhere to a higher set of ideals, if we did then the things we could "life with" would be different. That being said I don't think we should ignore religion or legal crap. Those things are just like locks, they keep honest and good people honest and good. Without laws or religion which is a different set of laws we would be a society of anarchy. It's too bad that we just couldn't be good without the promise of being locked up or a fiery hell.

Saying a fetus is not a person/human, is opinion based. Until you can prove that with facts by science, you got nothing.

I look at things a little more objectively. In the beginning it's just cells, building something, once the heart starts, well, the lights are on. It's not necessarily a person with thoughts and emotions but it is a living thing. The person that can look at a baby AT ANY STAGE and kill it, because you can drape any word around it you like it's killing something, that person is as dead as the fetus your killing. That being said you might think I am pro life.....abortion is too complex an issue to be black or white. I have kids and can't even think about abortion but I wouldn't take away the right of someone to do with their body what they need to. Then again the choice in question does relate to more than one person, it just takes place inside one of the person's body. Complex to say the least.

Neo, I agree with you.
