Hello all... I am trying to go back to school. I live in the Nashville TN area. I am currently a LPN and would like to get my RN. I was looking into doing the online program through excelsior. I however heard from a few different people that some hospitals in my area will not hire nurses who received their schooling from this source. I am a little worried now. I would hate to waste time and money with something that would close doors in my future. If anyone has any suggestions or has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to check before I take the leap.

Go to the distance learning forum. Plenty of EC grads there and they are gainfully employed. HTH
Thanks for the info..

Generally, employers are interested in your clear license, not the school you attended. In order to clear things up for you and allay your worries, I would call the HR departments of each of the places that you are considering and ask someone point blank if they refuse to hire EC grads. Sometimes rumors are inaccurate.
Thanks for the input. I have thought the same thing, and I have called multiple facilities in my area. I just wanted to put the Q out there and see if anyone had any personal experience with this...
