After reading the posts, I'm wondering if there are any places to work, in Florida, that people actually enjoy their jobs?? I'm hoping for decent pay as well, but happiness in my careers ranks highest! Any insight would be appreciated!!

Thank you so much for your input!! We're actually planning to move to the Clearwater/Bradenton area, so that's perfect!! :D Is the pay decent too?? I was told, on average in FL, I'm looking at about $26/hr for 5yrs experience.

Well, I am going on just 3 years experience at the same hospital, and I make 26+ so I would really shoot for $30 if you get an interview, etc, good luck, what area do you work in?

I've done ICU for the past 3 years and PCU the 2 years prior to that. I'm making just over $33/hr now, so knowing that it could possibly not be as drastic of a pay cut as what I had thought, makes me much more comfortable!! I didn't see any ICU positions posted, but we won't be moving until early next year-- hopefully by that time they'll have one available :o.

I currently work at St. Petersburg General Hospital and cannot say enough about the people I work with. They are some of the nicest that I have met in my career. I work same day surgery. Fast paced and when help is needed it is readily offered. You may want to check them out!:yeah:

That's so awesome to hear!! We're looking in that area, and it seems that Baycare hospitals are well liked by their staff! Thanks so much for the input!:D

Yes, I really love working for my organization. I only hear good things from other people, too. HCA hospitals, however...i would stay away from. All I hear is bad stuff.

I have to update my reply with an addendum. After working at SPG a few weeks post my reply I will still say that the co-workers are very nice but promises made were not kept. As a result I would not recommend St. Pete General. As a matter of course I no longer work there.
