Are these good nursing school entry scores?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello, I'm just seeking the opion of outsiders as far as entering nursing school.

I finished all required pre-reqs to apply to the nursing program with a 4.0 GPA. I have also taken the TEAS V as required and scored a 75.3%. The program I'm applying to requires a score of 58.7% or higher. If you were in my shoes, would you retake the test? The average score at the school is 80. I'm a single parent strapped on cash right now and every time you take the TEAS V it costs money.

Thanks.

I would retake it, personally. I took it twice and my score went up quite a bit.

Thanks. I definitely will.

My program is a pass/fail option. Also, they (and other programs Ive looked into) only take the first score and don't allow you to retake it. I would make sure they would allow you to submit a higher score if you retook the exam.

What is the average GPA for your nursing program's acceptance? If it is lower than 4.0 then your lower TEAS score will balance it out. You're only 5 percentage points below the average which is not bad. Also, do they weigh GPA and TEAS scores equally? I would look into that information as well as whether your school accepts another TEAS attempt and not just the first like the previous poster.

I would retake it, personally.
