APU ELM Spring 2015

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

So the deadline for Azusa Pacific's ELM program is just a couple days away! :nailbiting:

Any other fellow applicants out there? I was wondering if the March 1st deadline is strictly for a Spring 2015 start date, or if there's any possibility of an earlier start? January of next year just seems soooo far away.

Mine was actually just a phone interview, which made it much easier and relaxed. Basic questions like stated above: why nursing, what experiences related to nursing. Went over application, prereqs. Time for questions. Rank the 3 campus locations of preference. And the writing prompt. It's definitely scary going in, but it's actually not too bad.

Hi Everyone,

I applied for the Spring 2015 Cohort and I haven't had my interview either. Does anyone know any stats for accepted applicants from previous cohorts? I wasn't able to attend an information session so I'm not quite sure what the stats are or if they give that type of information out so any additional information on this program is helpful!! I agree it is a LONG time to wait for any word but hopefully it will come quickly! There aren't many people on this thread so I wonder how many people applied for next year.. usually there are so many people communicating by this time :nurse:

I'm having a difficult time finding the admission statistics for the program. Does anyone else know it? Many schools usually post up statistics for average GPA and etc.

I (surprisingly) received a phone call today from the Inland Empire campus asking if I would be interested in starting this summer or fall (I applied for Spring 2015). For various reasons this summer (and possibly fall) will not work out for me, but I was told that I would have a spot for the Spring 2015 cohort!!! I was told that the committee will not meet until the end of April, but I should expect to receive a letter soon stating my acceptance! So relieved! I think the only reason that I received the phone call is because I am done with all of my prerequisites except for Lifespan, and am currently taking that class now. So although acceptance status will not truly be determined until the end of April for Spring 2015, if you are done with prerequisites and are competitive enough you might be contacted sooner (to start in an earlier term). Good luck to everyone!! ;)

Congratulations!! I got bad news today that one of my letters of recommendation couldn't be accepted as the professor had no written it on their official graduate recommendation form. (This is frustrating because I had printed it and given it to that specific professor.) I now need to have her redo the letter, but I have a very small window as a grace period and I'm very scared I won't have it in time.

Sorry to hear of the confusion Emily103...however, if all your prerequisites are done I doubt that it should affect you too much??? Did you already have your interview???

Congratulations rizzoland13! That's fantastic news! I have a question for those of you who have already interviewed-- Does the admissions office contact you about scheduling an interview, or do we need to contact them?

seattlenurse11 - They contact you.

rizzoland13 - Mine are all completed but no interview call as of yet. I only just submitted on the last day though, and I'm not sure if they're going to call me as my app is incomplete because of the letter of recommendation situation. :( I feel so stressed!

I had an interview back in January but I had my application turned in back in December. I wouldn't worry too much quite yet about getting an interview. Since the deadline just passed, the director and admissions advisor is probably sorting through all of the app's to determine who is eligible for an interview, who isn't, etc. I would think more calls will likely start going out next week. Interview is very relaxed...more of an advising session. You have to complete a writing sample first (20 minutes or so) then you meet with an advising faculty member. I went to Monrovia campus to interview, but applied for Inland Empire. I have read on numerous posts that potential students may get a lot of information by simply calling...I even read a post where a student was told she was accepted by simply making a phone call!! :) I called a few weeks ago to ask how many applicants have applied, and since the deadline hadn't passed yet, was told that "many applications are received," but wasn't given a number???

Emily103 what campus did you apply for??

Hi! I got everything sorted out today! I hand delivered my rewritten letter of recommendation today. So relieved.

Rizzoland13 - I applied to the main campus! I'm really hoping to be at the new Monrovia location because it's about 10 minutes from my home. :) what about you?

Emily103-Congratulations! That is great news!! I applied for the Inland Empire campus (about 25 minutes from my house). :)
