Hello Everyone, I don't see a thread for the 2023 application for APU. I submitted my application with a 3.78 cumulative GPA and a 3.79 science GPA. Has anyone applied before? This is my first time applying for high desert region. I am a bit nervous because I found another thread that said the essay being one page was imperative. Mine was almost two pages. We still have another month of waiting to find out but has anyone been here before and can share any advise?
Adriana Adkins 39 Posts Thursday Hey! Current APU BSN student. I got in my first try with a science GPA of 3.5 and overall of 3.2, your statement is probably the most important thing. During the orientation they mentioned that almost everybody comes in with a high GPA but what stands out is what you say in your statement letter. I believe it's only supposed to be one page, but maybe they changed it now. don't give up you will get in many of my classmates took about 2 to 3 times to get in, you got it
Serina 3 Posts Thursday Thank you for the feedback! As a student of APU do you like the program? Is it worth the cost? I just got an invitation to take the TEAS test for another school. That school was my back up plan incase I don't get into APU. I seen we should start finding out in the next week or two if we got accepted. I wrote my essay in MLA. Can you give any advise on the style how you wrote yours?
Adriana Adkins 39 Posts Thursday There is no requirement for the style of your leter. APU allows you to pay tuition at the end of every semester, so it's not all at once. All the lectures and labs are in person but some of the classes like theology or nutrition may be online, it also depends on the location you're at. They may not tell you the schedule till the week of starting class, so you will have to be flexible. We went to clinicals within the first 6 weeks as well. The cost is worth it to be done soon
Serina 3 Posts Thursday That's good to hear. If you don't mind me asking do you know which hospitals apu does their clinical with? I can't find anything on the website regarding sites or schedules for classes. Does you schedule change a lot?
Adriana Adkins 39 Posts Thursday There is no set hospital but the schedule changes every semester and so does the hospital sometimes. Sims and labs can be added later on in the semester as well
