APSU, any info?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hey all!

My family is getting ready to move to the Clarksville area and I am transferring to APSU from Texas. I'm trying to find information on what the program is like, but there isn't any out there. If I was accepted (still waiting on the letter), I will start in the fall. Before I found out we were moving, I was about to start a program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. My husband is military so things change quickly. I emailed the pre-nursing adviser to get some info on what to expect so I could start arranging child care. She told me she won't know anything until I am signed up for classes.

Can anyone tell me how many clinical days/lecture days there are the first semester? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!! Also, does anyone know if the local hospital has a student nurse employment program? Here (in Texas), the VA and one of the hospitals has an AWESOME program where you just have to work 16 hours a month to keep the position. It pays well and you just show up when you have time and work for however many hours you have time to work that day. If you need more than 16 hrs, you just work more than 16 hours.

Thanks in advance for any info given!! I am so excited to see what TN is like! I have heard it is beautiful and there is a ton of stuff to do.

Search APSU. I think tashapitts attend APSU online.

I just got my acceptance letter for their program last week. I hope you got one too! If so, congrats! I am not 100% on the class schedule we'll have, but I did look up the courses to give myself a hypothetical schedule for the fall. From what onestop says, Mondays and Thursdays are regular classroom/lecture days, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays are lab days. There isn't anything on Fridays, but that doesn't mean we won't have something else out of the classroom that day. I'm waiting on the nursing school packet to come in the mail. That should have more info. Hope you enjoy Tennessee!

I got accepted, too! Also, I went on to give myself a hypothetical schedule as well LOL I am so excited and patience is a skill I do not seem to possess. We will get all our info by July 1, according to the email. Did you go to APSU for all your prereqs or did you transfer? I'm so excited to meet someone else who will be in the program!
