APRN Texas application nightmare

Hi I'm a brand new NP I graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing and trying to apply for my license in texas where I have my RN license with. School won't send the application part 2 with original signature of the program director and TBON won't take it or reach back to me. I am stuck in the middle of this application process. I'm just so frustrated and don't know what to do. Does anybody encounter similar situation? or have any suggestion? Please advise.

Thank you

I had no issues getting my license. My school, in PA, sent that letter you're referring to. Texas needs it. Why won't your school send it?? That's what you need.

I had this experience as well in 2014. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what the issue ended up being, but I think I ended up having to download the form myself and sent it to the BON, then the BON contacted the school to confirm it was official (or something like that). It took me two months to be able to take the boards because of this delay. The school kept telling me they were sending the form (and I believe them), but there was some issue with electronic delivery. If I were you, I would ask the school to send you a copy, and then you forward the form to the BON. I'm sorry you're going through this. Good luck!

I'm based in Texas and had a similar issue when I finished in 2014. My director apparently sent the appropriate paperwork to the state, but they somehow never ended up getting it. I ended up having to personally go into the school and have the director sign another one, which I then overnighted to the state board and required a signature for proof of receipt so they couldn't say they never received it.

I would just ask your school to send it to you so you can have it stored on your own system, and send it to the state yourself. Once Texas actually has everything needed, they move fairly quickly. Even with the hang up and my school sending the wrong transcripts that didn't show a degree conferral on it (twice), I got my Texas APRN license about 10 days after they received all the completed paperwork.

Dealing with them can be a pain in the rear, but don't be discouraged, it happens to lots of people. Immediately after I got my APRN license, both licenses were due to be renewed 2 months away, and of course the state audited me asking for proof of continuing education. Even though they had proof I had just finished a graduate degree with hundreds of CE credits worth and multiple copies of my transcripts, they wanted me to send another transcript because walking down to the APRN office was apparently too taxing for them. A PDF of my unofficial transcript didn't pass the test either. I ended up just uploading a certificate photocopy of the FNP board review I took right before graduating, and that was apparently good enough. The whole experience really highlighted how dumb and wasteful a government agency can be.

Thank you so much Now I am just patiently waiting.

TX is not the worst. Be thankful you're not applying for California took me 9 months to get my CA RN and NP license endorsement because they keep losing my paperwork. TX has lost my paperwork once. After that, I got smart and I sent it priority and certified mail where someone had to sign for it and the signature had to be mailed back to me. Once I received the return receipt signature in the mail, I called the board of nursing I held on for about 30 minutes and I was going to hold on and keep calling anyway if I can't reach them. Long story short, they said they couldn't find it and I said "well I have someone's signature that its been received" so guess what, someone got off their chair and started looking for my application while I was on hold and found my application.
