APRN in scrubs?

Okay so I have a silly question for this Saturday morning.

I’m an RN and I wear scrubs to work (even though I work in a field where there’s basically no possibility of getting my clothes dirty). I love them. I have not put on a pair of real pants since I became a nurse. They are comfortable and also— I look adorable in scrubs.

I am now starting graduate school to become a PMHNP. Do I have to wear “professional” clothes once I graduate??  My only frame of reference is my current job, and the advanced practice nurses there wear high heels and skirts with their white lab coats!  Horrors!  Does anybody wear scrubs to your APRN job??

I see pts in dialysis units and in multiple offices and I wear scrubs all the time. When in the office, I do wear a lab coat over them though

Specializes in PACU, Family Practice.

I work in a family practice clinic with an MD. He wears business casual and I wear scrubs. I just have them embroidered with my name and credentials to make them look more professional LOL.

I wear sports casual. black pants and runners.  I let my work speak for itself, am clean and tidy.

I work as a hospitalist and we have the option to wear business attire or scrubs.  I prefer scrubs as I tend to find different ways of getting dirty.  I usually spill food on myself twice a day. forget to cap pens and all my pockets get ink stains and I spill coffee quit a bit too.  Maybe I should wear a bib with my scrubs..
