Hi Everyone! im applying for fall 2023, then later applying for city and grossmont for Spring 2024 incase I don't get in.
My stats are:
TEAS 6 90.7 (I took it in may 2022)
pre req 4.0, overall 3.87. (3.87 in pre req according to SDSU)
I would be 100/100 for southwestern, maxed in points in SD city and Grossmont as well.
I didn't know I could apply to SDSU directly into the BSN program so I let my chem suffer and got a C. so my GPA for sdsu is 3.87 for both pre req and overall. Id be applying at 66/80 points.
I was wondering has anyone transferred from a community college directly into sdsu nursing program. If so what were your stats?
I also wanted to know how sdsu goes about accepting ADN from a community college into their BSN. WHat do they consider? Im sure its also competitive but I havent hear if they also look at points or grades from the ADN program, or scores from NCLEX. I want to know so while in school, I know what to work on. Thanks in advanced!

Im currently at southwesterns nursing program an graduating may 2023 but I can tell you theres almost zero competition to get into the bridge programs once you are enrolled into one of the ADN programs. They come to the campus an you basically pick which one you want. They do want you to have the organic chem done for SDSU before you can take the concurrent enrollment through them though ( an as long as you pass) . If you don't have it you actually cant take classes. Thats what happened to alot of us in the current cohort. I didn't have it but im in the PLNU bridge myself. SDSU has a class that replaces a 4th semester class for leadership that lessens the load which would have helped alot because it is heavy but you do need that organic chem. Alot of the cohort ended up going through GCU actually because they didn't require additional clinical rotations while SDSU has an international travel requirement an I know a few of us went through point loma because of the public health certification. They will explain it all once you get into your programs you guys decide on. ( Theres also a big price difference between SDSU, PLNU, AN GCU)
Oh man! Thanks for the info! I just got accepted into swc, so now that stress is over but now another begins LOL. I wish I took organic chem but I have to work and the class was mon wed and Friday, which my work wasnt willing to work around so I had to drop it:( it it was an online course id have now issues.

For the first two semsters the classes are on tuesdays and the last two semesters the classes are on mondays. If your a day student its from 9:30 till 3:00 basically and evening its from 4:30 till I think 9 or so. I am a day student so im not sure for the evening course. When I found out I got into the program I got ahold of the director and special requested the day cohort because I have kids and I had issues with child care and scheduling so they really helped me out on that. The program does try to support you as much as they can and they did help me with that. Clinicals are a different story it really depends on what they get. We were on the tail end of covid so we took whatever we could get since alot of the hospitals were still weary. it's better now where the hospitals are letting everyone in now. The program is HARD! but its doable. just try to stay as positive as you can and always come from a place of learning has really helped. I wish you the best in getting in!
Hey! thanks for the info, Im still a little confused as to the schedule. I thought day were Monday through Friday 8 to 4. If its just a few day a week the better! id love to pick you brain if you ever have some time! I feel with my ridiculous schedule I must prepare, months in advance. Id also like to learn about the program and your experience as well.
