Hey!
I just wanted to know if there is anyone else applying to Sacramento State's ASBSN program. I'm just waiting on my Fall 2007 grades before I get my application in. I'm pretty nervous! I just want to get that application packet to them already!
Anyway, I just wanted to open this thread, to get in touch with other people who have applied or are applying.

Yep I applied, and I know of three other people that I did my pre-reqs with that are also applying. I heard through the grapevine that there were more applicants this year than any other year.

Hi,
this might be a stupid question, but is it OK to send applications now, even though the deadline is the July 1-st? Or is it preferred to send it closer to the deadline?
thanks
Yikes... That makes me nervous! *Crosses fingers* I had a great GPA, but my GRE scores were less than stellar! I guess we just need to wait a see!!!
Do you have an idea about how many people applied? Last year was 101 I believe.
Good Luck! i hope to meet you this summer!!:w00t:

The deadline for the summer ASBSN program was January 7th. Maybe you are speaking about their regular BSN program?

I did. I'm gonna be sweating bullets for the next few weeks until I hear from them. I hope they don't make us wait too long .
I'm the opposite - I worked out my prereq GPA the way I think they calculate it, and it's about the mean they gave for last year in the information packet (I'm assuming this year is going to be much more competitive), but my GRE scores are pretty good. I'm cautiously hopeful as long as they accept my prereqs.
Knock on wood we'll all be really happy in a couple of weeks.
Well... Hopefully both of our stronger points have balanced out the any weaker points and I'll be seeing you come summer kitsune!! The end of February can't come soon enough!!!!
I got in!!!!!
I'm so relieved. I hope it's good news for you guys.

Me too! Congrats kitsune! Did you attend any of their info sessions prior to applying? I didn't get a chance to. Just wondering what you got out of it if you did attend one.
I'm crossing my fingers for everyone else who applied. The letters should be arriving very soon.
Congratulations!!!
I'm still waiting to hear from two other schools, but they're both long shots for me, plus I'd have to pay out of state tuition, so I'll most likely be going to sac state.
I went to the first information session. It was mostly about the admission requirements, the application process, and how much it cost. Everyone's questions (including mine) were about those things as well. I don't think she really talked too much about the actual structure of the program or about the classes or anything. However, I was late because I hit bad traffic and then I had the wrong room number, so I could have missed some information.
I'm kicking myself now I didn't ask questions about how clinicals are scheduled, how much time in each rotation, etc.

It feels so great to know that whatever the results are for the other 2 schools, we're at ease since we're already in! I'm also awaiting a response from two other schools, both of which are in California. What are the other 2 schools that you applied to? Are they also ABSN programs as well?
Since you went to the info session, what is the cost of the program? Did you also get a tour of the nursing facility? Sorry for bombarding you with questions. I'm sure things will be clarified at the new student orientation, whenever that is, so don't kick yourself over not asking all the questions. Unlike me, you actually went to the info session, which is good. By the way, are you from the Sac area? I'm from SF.
I applied to OHSU in Portland and UCDHS in Denver. Both are accelerated programs, although UCDHS says they may offer some people who asked for the accelerated program spots in the regular 2 year program instead.
I live on the peninsula, but I had to go to the info session because I needed to get some questions about prereqs answered right away so I could sign up for classes that started the next week.
I walked in the middle of the discussion of cost, and I can't find where I wrote down the numbers. I just remember that it's grad school tuition, like they said in the admit letter, which is about 4K a year I think. I don't remember what the other expenses were.
It was just an information session in some kind of student academic center, no tour or anything. If I have time (probably won't) I was thinking of asking if I could come and see the nursing school facilities and sit in on a class or something.
I got in also!!!!!!! :D :D
I can't wait to meet you all this summer!!!
