no such thing as reciprocity. You need to follow requirements on NY BON for foreign nurse so will need to go through CVS

Reciprocity does not exist, only license endorsement. And if you went thru CA, then you do not have an actual license to be endorsed to NY. You will need to go thru the License by Examination procedure and then have CA BRN submit your passing results to NY.

You need to go thru the CVS process and that takes on average about 8 months to complete before NY will even look at your application.

Hospitals are not petitioning in NY if you have not attended school there, and they have not been doing so for more than two years. The surrounding states: yes. But NY: no. Just so you are aware of this.

We have not seen employers in NY willing to petition foreign nurses. We have also had nurses who trained in the US (NY) who need a petitioner post they are struggling and are having to look elsewhere ie other states. Even to use their OPT as employers are not willing to take the risk when they do not know how long retrogression will last

Be aware that just because one possesses a license for a certain state, it does not mean that they are going to get hired to work in a hospital.

And with the retrogression in place and you are looking at about five years for a chance at a green card. Chances of finding a hospital to petition you from there is just quite slim.
